In the foyer, the handheld radio spits static over the hush. Dane and Elias lean close to it, shoulders touching, while the rest of the group waits in a tight ring.

Elias
Hold on, there, keep it steady... yeah, I heard that. Military convoy went down east of here.

Dane
A crash site means gear, maybe survivors. If we move fast, this could help the whole house.
The broadcast crackles again, thin and broken, but clear enough to make out the words supply transport and injured personnel.

Dane
Benjamin, let me take point on this. We make the run, we come back with ammo, food, maybe body armor. It is a real haul.

Elias
I will mark the route and keep the radio on. If there are survivors in that wreck, we owe them a shot at getting out.
The room goes still at the promise, the open pantry behind them a stark reminder of how much they still need.

Investigate the convoy crash site
Benjamin leaves Benjamin's House behind and arrives at crash site.
“Take Dane and Elias to the crash site. Leave the others at the house”
SUCCESS (Great Agility, rolled +0)
The crash site stinks of hot metal and wet pine. Search lights from a wrecked convoy wash over bent brush, a crumpled transport truck, and shapes moving low in the dark.
Benjamin stops at the edge of the beam, bat ready, while Dane crouches beside him and Elias squints toward the wreck. The house is far behind them now, quiet for the first time in hours.

Dane
There, hear that? Somebody is still alive near the cab.

Elias
And the radio gear is intact. If we can get close, I can pull a clean signal.
A red flare burns once behind the transport, then gutters, showing a line of duffel bags spilled into the mud and one body lying still beside the passenger door.

Benjamin
The convoy went down hard, and the gear is spread right in the open.
Benjamin takes point around a fallen tree, and Dane and Elias follow his line without argument. From the wreck, a weak knocking starts against bent sheet metal, sharp and human.
