The ritual ring dies in a shower of gold dust. The whole chamber lurches, and the floor under Ares turns to a slant of cracking stone and open dark.

Sisyphus
No. No, you do not take this from me!
Sisyphus staggers near the failing dais, fury stripped bare by fear. Hades plants himself against the collapse, one arm out as if he can still hold the world together by force of will alone.

Hades
Ares, move now. The chamber will not wait for pride.

Thanatos
The support is gone. Choose the shortest path, not the safest one.
The platform splits with a terrible groan. Sparks race through the floor channels as the abyss opens wider beneath them, and the air fills with falling grit and broken ward-light.
Ares stands at the edge of the break, with Hades braced behind him, Thanatos battered but upright, and Sisyphus trapped by his own failing design. One leap, one strike, one pull, and the escape is either won or lost.
“I spring across the break toward the exit”
SUCCESS (Superb Athletics, rolled +2)

Ares drives off the broken edge in a single hard arc. The floor drops away behind him, and the widening crack swallows the light where he stood a breath ago.
He lands on the far side with the force of a hammer blow, boots skidding across splintered stone. The exit path yawns open ahead, while the chamber groans and caves in behind him.

Sisyphus
Stop him!
Sisyphus scrambles after the loss, but the breaking platform turns under him and steals his footing. Hades keeps his stance at the collapse, jaw set, holding the way long enough for the others to follow.

Thanatos
Now, Ares. The chamber is finished.
Thanatos reaches the safer ledge beside Ares, pale but upright. Behind them, the ritual pit devours the ruined dais in choking dust and dim gold sparks.
The last of the ring light gutters out. Corinth’s hidden wound closes on Sisyphus’s panic, while Ares, Hades, and Thanatos stand beyond the break, alive, together, and free of the falling chamber.

Stone groaned and split. Dust poured through the chamber as the ritual light thinned to a dying thread.

Sisyphus
No, no, this cannot be undone.

Hades
It is already undone. Move, Ares.

Thanatos
Do not look back.

Ares
I am coming.
Ares leapt clear as the platform sheared away. Hades held the edge long enough for Thanatos to cross, and then the chamber fell silent beneath the abyss.
They returned to the surface with ash on their clothes and the burden of the Underworld still clinging to their names. The kingdom had survived the collapse, but not unchanged, and Ares carried the proof of what had been lost below. Behind them, the dark sealed over Sisyphus and the broken ritual, and the air above felt like an ending at last.
