The fissure answers Tululu’s command. Stone groans wide, and the crowned seal splits with a wet shimmer of shadow. Black-gold light crawls under Tululu’s skin, tugging toward the new opening like a hooked tide.
Beyond the裂裂裂裂裂裂裂? path, the mountain’s heart breathes in a slow, ancient pulse. The runes along the wall bleed dark mist, revealing a stair of raw stone descending into a chamber that was never meant to be seen.

The Shadow-Bound Sentinel
It recognizes you now. The hunger and the bloodline are bound. One road leads to a throne, the other to consumption.
The Sentinel steps to Tululu’s side, one hand lifted in guarded loyalty, as if even its obedience now hangs on the choice in the air.

Shadow Spirit
Use it, heir. Feed the seal and claim what was denied. Refuse, and it will feed on you instead.

Tululu
The chamber opens below. So does the cost.
From the depths, the unseen power surges again, and the shadow in the runes sharpens into a path. Tululu stands at the threshold of the mountain’s true heart, with the throne’s promise and the hunger’s price both waiting below.
“Offer my name to the hunger to become my blade so that I can claim the thrown from my brother. Offer a contract to feed my new weapon blood for power. Seal the hunger in my spell blades.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Magic, rolled +0)

Tululu lowers both spell blades toward the split seal. The shadow-hunger rushes in, not as a mouth, but as a verdict.

Tululu
My name is Tululu. Bind yourself to my blades, and feed on blood by my leave.
The runes flare. Dark mist threads into the metal, and the blades answer with a low, hungry hum.

Shadow Spirit
A name given. A vow taken. The hunger is caged where it can serve.
Black-gold light coils around Tululu’s hands, then sinks cleanly into the twin edges. One blade drinks shadow, the other holds its shape like a promise.

The Shadow-Bound Sentinel
It is done. The mountain has accepted your claim.
A thin whisper remains in the steel, obedient and keen. Below, the stair waits, and the Sentinel turns its helm toward Tululu for the next command.
“Use my new power to slay all in the area.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Magic, rolled -2)

The blades give a single black-gold pulse, and the tunnel answers. Shadow leaps from steel to spirit, swallowing both the Sentinel’s outline and the hovering whisper in one silent flare.
When the light gutters out, the Shadow-Bound Sentinel is gone from the passage. Only a scatter of cold ash and a helm-shaped smear of dusk remain where they stood.
The Shadow Spirit breaks apart without a cry, unraveling into thin mist that the runes drink greedily from the wall.
Tululu’s spell blades lower under the aftershock, their hunger now still and obedient, their edges holding the darkness like sealed ink.
The stair below stands bare in clearer gloom, and the air feels emptied, as if the mountain itself has paused to listen.
From the dark ahead, something deeper in the mountain shifts once, slow and vast. Then a voice, distant and unreadable, whispers from below,
"Will you descend with the hunger you have bound, or leave it waiting at the threshold?"
“Descend”
SUCCESS (Superb Agility, rolled -1)

Tululu turns from the threshold and descends, each step swallowing the last of the ash-lit silence. Their spell blades stay low, but the darkness below bends faintly around them like a held breath.
The stair bites deeper into the mountain, and the carved walls tighten into a narrow throat of stone. A faint, rootlike pulse runs through the masonry, answering Tululu’s passage with a slow, waking thrum.
At the turn below, the gloom opens enough to reveal a ledge and a vast hollow beyond, all black distance and pale runes. One of the runes ahead flickers brighter at Tululu’s approach, as if recognizing the bound hunger in their blades.
Far below, something shifts again, heavier this time, and loose dust sifts from the ceiling in a soft veil. The mountain does not stop Tululu, it makes room.

Distant Voice
You have the threshold now. Will you bring the hunger farther in?
Tululu reaches the lower landing in one clean motion, landing without a stumble. Ahead, the passage widens into an antechamber where a stone arch waits in shadow, its inner face marked by fresh, faintly glowing script.
“Percieve the area”
SUCCESS (Legendary Perception, rolled +1)

Tululu stills at the landing and lets the chamber speak first. The arch ahead is not merely marked, it is a gate of listening stone, and the fresh script crawls in a slow circle around its inner edge.
Beyond it, the hollow opens wider than the stair suggested. Pale runes stud the far walls in broken constellations, and a black dais sits at the center, ringed with old ash and newer drag marks.
The ash is fresh. Someone was hauled across this floor recently.
Tululu’s bound blades answer the room with a low, faint hum. The glow in the arch flickers brighter, then settles, as if measuring them and finding them known.

Distant Voice
Look well, Tululu. The mountain keeps its offerings where all can see them.
A narrow side passage opens to the right, half hidden by shadow and fallen grit. At its mouth, a single smear of light traces a boot print, then vanishes into the dark.

Distant Voice
Will you step to the dais, or follow the mark first?

Create a well of power
“Create a well of power to absorb all the magic from this place.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Magic, rolled +0)

Tululu lays both spell blades point-down, and the ash in the chamber answers. A shallow basin of darkness opens at their feet, drawing in the glow from the runes, the dust, and the last stray wisps of old enchantment.
The air tightens, then flows inward in a slow spiral. Fresh ash trails lift from the floor and stream toward the blades, where they vanish into a dim, hungry gleam.
The archway's script gutters once, then burns steady and low, as if drained. The chamber beyond looks suddenly emptied of its hidden charge, still and bare in the dim light.
Within the new well, a darker pulse gathers, compact and obedient. It does not lash out. It waits, sealed and fed, a reservoir Tululu can feel answering their blood.

Distant Voice
There. Now you hold the mountain's listening heart.
The voice fades, and the side passage exhales a colder draft. Something deeper inside the mountain stirs at the loss, then falls silent, leaving the next descent open and unclaimed.
