Cold moonwater spills away as Tululu and Navana step from the portal into a vast hall of crystal and living mist. Three towering silhouettes gather ahead, the Wardens at the center, the Ashen to one side, the Verdant Choir to the other.

Kaelith

Kaelith

Blood of the mountain, present your claim. Let the spirits judge whether your right is true.

The chamber brightens around Tululu, the triad of lights beneath the pool now mirrored in the air above her. Every faction watches, waiting to see whether her crown can hold their oath.

Tululu

Tululu

Three factions. One throne.

The Ashen

The Ashen

Show us the fire you carry. Power alone is not loyalty.

The Verdant Choir

The Verdant Choir

Show us what you will protect, then we may root our voice in yours.

Navana lowers his head beside Tululu, silent and ready, while the crystal floor reflects her blades and the dragon-bonded glow beneath her skin. The spirits wait for her answer, and the mountain itself seems poised to accept or reject her reign.

The crystal floor shivers under Tululu’s boots. Above the trio of spirits, the mirrored lights twist, then split into a fourth point no one asked for.

Kaelith

Kaelith

That is not meant to be here.

A seam opens in the air behind the factions, spilling out a veil of ash and pale roots. From it steps a fourth presence, thin as a prayer and crowned in thorned bark, its eyes fixed on Tululu like an old grievance finally given shape.

The Verdant Choir

The Verdant Choir

It comes too soon. If it speaks, the mountain may choose for us.

The Ashen

The Ashen

No... that voice should still be buried.

Navana straightens at Tululu’s side, suddenly pale. The new arrival raises a hand, and the mist around the hall bends inward, listening.

The Thorned Visitor

The Thorned Visitor

Heir of the mountain, your claim is not the only one waking tonight.

I demand the Thorned Visitor name its claim

SUCCESS (Fair Willpower, rolled +1)

Tululu’s demand cuts through the hush, clean and unmistakable. The Thorned Visitor stills, thorn-bark shoulders lifting as the hall’s pale lights gather on their face.

The Thorned Visitor

The Thorned Visitor

My claim is old as the roots below this palace. I speak for what was buried, what was pruned away, and what remembers the cutting.

Kaelith

Kaelith

Then state your right plainly. The mountain hears vows, not riddles.

The Thorned Visitor

The Thorned Visitor

I was made guardian to the forgotten grove beneath your heart. When the vow was broken, my duty became resistance.

The Verdant Choir

The Verdant Choir

That is true. The roots do not lie, though they can be wounded.

Navana glances from Tululu to the Visitor, tense but silent. The ash in the air loosens, as if the hall itself is listening for the next name.

The Thorned Visitor

The Thorned Visitor

If you would wear the mountain’s crown, heir, say what you protect when power demands a sacrifice.

I would protect life, growth and rejuvenation. I hunger for growth of my people and our power.

Tululu

I protect life, growth, and the renewal of my people. Power is for tending, not taking.

The hall listens. The mirror lights soften, then deepen to green-gold around Tululu’s words, as if roots have found water beneath stone.

The Verdant Choir

The Verdant Choir

That answer carries living promise. It does not smell of ash alone.

Kaelith

Kaelith

A ruler who protects growth must also endure decay. Will you guard what weakens, even when it cannot be made useful?

Tululu

Tululu

Yes. A realm that cannot shelter its weakest cannot call itself strong.

Navana lowers his hand at his chest, relief easing his shoulders as the open seam behind the factions hums in a calmer note.

The Thorned Visitor

The Thorned Visitor

Then your crown is not mere hunger. It has roots. I yield the challenge and bare the grove’s old wound before you.

The Thorned Visitor parts their thorn-bark mantle, revealing a pale scar of blight across their chest, and the three factions turn toward Tululu together, awaiting her judgment.

Attempt to heal the scar combining the power of the hunger and the power of the world tree. Have my dragon assist.

Tululu lowers her blades toward the blighted scar. Ash-gold heat threads through the air, then pale root-light answers it, circling the wound in a slow, precise ring.

Her dragon coils from the floor in a compact spiral of ember and shining scale, exhaling a warm breath that steadies the chamber’s glow rather than scorching it.

The hunger in Tululu’s weapons meets the world-tree’s living pulse, and the blight drinks both. Blackened fibers loosen from the Thorned Visitor’s chest as color returns beneath them.

The Thorned Visitor

The Thorned Visitor

...It is easing. The wound remembers green.

The Verdant Choir

The Verdant Choir

This is not force, it is repair. She binds ruin into renewal.

Kaelith

Kaelith

The mark is closing. The mountain witnesses the hand that mends it.

The scar seals into a pale seam, then fades to a faint silver trace. The Thorned Visitor straightens, breathing easier, while the hall’s green-gold light settles around Tululu like an answered vow.
