The tunnel goes deathly silent. In Tululu’s hands, the containment stone throbs with shadow-light, and a mournful cadence fills the cramped dark like a heartbeat remembering grief.

Aelthiriel did not merely bind me. She gave up her name, so the curse would have nowhere left to root.

She stood before the seal and let the mountain take her lineage into the lock. That was the sacrifice. That was her vow.

The Shadow-Bound Sentinel

Aelthiriel... my master. I was not abandoned. I was left to guard a promise.

The Sentinel’s rigid posture fractures at last. Their shoulders lower, and the cold stillness in them gives way to sorrow, then clarity, as if a long-buried command has finally spoken its true name.

Then I was never bound to a prison. I was bound to her will. To her heir.

The shadow-light inside the stone steadies, no longer thrashing. The rune seam remains sealed, but the air around it changes, as though the mountain itself has recognized Tululu’s blood.

Tululu studies the tunnel with a hunter’s stillness. The dust curtain thickens, and the shadow-light around the containment stone gathers into a crowned outline, like a face remembered by darkness.

At the seam in the rune wall, the air tastes hollow. Beneath the roots and old stone, Tululu catches a second rhythm, a slow hunger pulsing under the floor.

The pulse is coming from below the seal.

The Shadow-Bound Sentinel

You feel it now. The ancient hunger listens through the stone.

The Emissary

It hungers for what was promised to it, and what was hidden from it.

The Earth Elemental lowers one hand to the ground, and the tunnel answers with a faint tremor. Dust slides from the ceiling in silver threads, tracing the direction of the buried presence.

The Caretaker

The Caretaker

If Tululu can name the source, we may still choose what it feeds upon.

In the crown-marked shadow, a narrow fissure briefly opens in the seal, showing darkness deeper than the tunnel. Something within stirs, waiting for a voice or a sacrifice.

Connect spiritually with the hunger.

Tululu stills, and the tunnel seems to lean inward. Their spell blades dim as their focus sinks past stone, past root, into the pulse below.

The hunger is awake, old, and waiting.

The fissure answers with a soft exhale. Shadow-light gathers into a throat of darkness, and something vast and patient turns to recognize Tululu.

The Shadow-Bound Sentinel

The Shadow-Bound Sentinel

It knows you. The vow still has a listener.

A thin thread of black-gold power slips from the seam and curls around Tululu’s hand, then settles beneath their skin like a sealed door opening from within.

The ancient hunger takes your name into itself. It will answer your will, if you do not flinch.

The dust quiets. In the rune seal, the crowned profile sharpens, and the air grows still enough to hear the others draw back in awe. Somewhere deeper in the mountain, the waiting presence wakes fully.
