Witness of the Bound Star

Kokoro bows toward the western guardian’s absent flame. Beneath the dark pool, three separate routes continue glowing upward, while Vael watches from the basin’s edge.

Far above, Claire remains near the rain gate with her copied signs. The red flame-shaped reflection pulses through the stone, drawing every route toward the hidden spring.

Amber sparks twist along one passage, blue-white light steadies in another, and pale violet reflections drift through the third. None touches Kokoro’s unmarked ember.

The chamber’s stone gives a low, resonant murmur. Above, one route begins narrowing, its light retreating toward the dark pool while the other two remain open.

Kokoro turns from the basin and enters the narrowing amber route before its light can retreat. The passage accepts her, closing behind her without resistance.

Amber sparks stream along the walls, dividing around ancient stone and rejoining only in reflection. Kokoro’s unmarked ember remains steady as the route carries her upward.

Vael follows through the amber-lit passage. Behind him, the blue-white and pale violet routes remain visible through the stone, each continuing toward its own ascent.

The route opens into a steep shaft where amber fragments rise like falling leaves turned upward. At its summit, the red reflection pulses beside the hidden spring.

The amber current carries Kokoro onto a ledge above the spring. Below, the unbound flames gather in separate circles, and the red mark waits across the crystal surface.
