
The refuge settles into a low murmur beneath the running stone. The ward-stone holds its pale blue boundary beyond the waterline, while Sil’Thalis and Bren remain beside Veyr at the threshold.
Sereveth gathers near the hollow’s inner ring, and Vaeluun’s presence moves through the glowing stream. The freed void-born keep separate places along the banks, with no single voice raised above the others.

Vaeluun
Some threads still change when offered distance, memory, and a choice of return. Others carry so much imposed shape that change may mean learning a self from the beginning.

Sereveth
The first intake did not alter them equally. Those marked only by copied names can recover distinction. Those formed around repeated refusals may need time before any answer belongs wholly to them.
Several wavering forms brighten at the word recover. Others remain dim and motionless, their pale sparks circling inward as though language itself has become an uncertain threshold.

Veyr
Then no path will be assigned by resemblance, damage, or usefulness. Each may approach the water, remain beyond it, or withdraw without being named ungrateful.

Bren
