A holographic interface snaps into view, projecting a rough map of Galgok and a stack of text logs. The anonymous signal has a voice now, at last.

The pulse is coming from the system itself.

The logs scroll fast, full of failed lockouts and repeated attempts to bypass a hard-coded lockdown. The message was never a lure from outside, it is the machine trapped inside the mountain, trying to reach its own throat.

Cold air pours around Remedy as the map highlights the next passage, blue light reflecting off the tunnel walls like a heartbeat finally making sense.

Remedy lowers her shoulder and follows the blue line as it stretches into the passage, the phone tucked tight against her kit. She keeps to the center of the floor, eyes sweeping the seams where old stone meets newer panels.

The light leads her past a shallow alcove and a dead junction, then stops short of a thin wire laid low across the path. It is nearly invisible until the pulse catches it.

She steps over it cleanly, then spots a second trick, a loose plate set to tilt under weight. Remedy shifts her step and slips past before it can give.

Ahead, the tunnel opens into a cramped service nook. A recessed panel sits there with the same blue glow leaking from its edges, and the light gathers over a small terminal lock built into the wall.

Remedy reaches the nook without setting off a single trap, and the interface brightens when she arrives. The lock waits under her hand, silent and ready.
