Wind rasps through the rooftop garden. The chained Raider Leader stands before Angela’s throne, jaw tight, one wrist locked to the stair rail. A knife glints on the stone by her boot, half buried in dust shaken loose from the threshold. Ben stays low by the basin, watching every move.

Marek
If you want the tower, then take it. But my people do not kneel to a rooftop ghost.
The leader jerks his chain hard enough to rattle the rail, testing the hold. The sound carries down the stairwell like a warning to the men below.

Angela Diaboli
Kneel, and your people live here under my rule.

Raider Two
He looks from Angela to the stair, pale and sweating. If the boss breaks, maybe the rest of them survive.
Raider Two lowers himself first, then stops, waiting on the Leader’s answer. Ben’s fingers tighten on the basin edge as the whole roof hangs on the next breath.

Marek
...Fine. I kneel. But you break this band, and you own the compound.
“With the raiders under my rule i ask the leader to rise”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled -1)

The leader pushes up from his knee under Angela’s command, chain scraping the rail as he rises into a stiff, wary stand.

Marek
I rise. Just keep your word, goddess.
Raider Two stays low, eyes flicking between them, like he is learning the shape of survival by watching.

Ben
He listened. People can do that here.
The tower breathes around them, dust drifting from the stairwell behind the rail, where the lower floors remain hidden and trapped in shadow.

Marek
If I stand for you, then speak plain. What do you want from us now?
For a heartbeat, the knife at Angela’s feet sits forgotten in the grit, a small bright promise of the violence already settled.
“Your men will continue to do what they do best, raid under your command. You may all rest here and csll this tower home. In exchange i onky ask that you gaurd it with your lives. And you specifically, leader, will be the first of my many kings.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +0)

Angela Diaboli
Your men keep raiding under your command. You rest here and call this tower home. Guard it with your lives. And you, leader, will be the first of my many kings.
The rooftop goes still under the weight of the words. Dust slips from the stair mouth while the chained leader stares at Angela, as if testing whether the sentence has teeth.

Marek
First of many, huh?
He lowers his chin at last, not to the rail, but to her. It is a smaller motion than a kneel, and somehow harder to fake.

Marek
Then I take the title. I keep your tower. I keep my people in line.

Raider Two
We can do that. Better than dying for scraps.
Ben’s shoulders ease at the edge of the garden, his gaze moving from the leader to the knife in the grit and back again.

Marek
Give me a name for this place, then. If I am king here, I want to know what I am swearing to.

Name this tower
“This place is The Tower of New Eden. And with your pledge of allegiance, you are now the first husband of the Goddess Queen.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled -1)

The name lands on the rooftop like a seal pressed into wax. Ben straightens in the background, and Raider Two glances over as if he has heard a law spoken aloud.

Angela Diaboli
This place is the Tower of New Eden. And with your pledge, you are the first husband of the Goddess Queen.

Marek
First husband, then. Better than dead king of ashes.
He bows his head again, this time with real fear in it, the chain at his wrist going taut against the rail.

Raider Two
Heard it, then. New Eden. We keep it standing.
Ben lets out a quiet breath, his eyes moving from the leader to Angela, then to the stair mouth and the dust still drifting from below.

Ben
It fits. It sounds like somewhere people can live.
The leader waits for Angela’s next word, chin lowered, shoulders braced, as if the tower itself is holding its breath with him.
