Cold suddenly slaps himself awake. The victory fractures into false images: the sealed gate, Lucien’s defeat, and Janet’s recovered soul-marble were planted memories.

A black gate opens beneath the cells. Invisible bindings seize everyone at once, pinning bodies and weapons as Lucien’s recorded image rises above the darkness.

Crimson and white Espresso burns through Cold Yuichi’s Soul-Sword, splitting the shared falsehood. The bindings crack, then fall away from every captive as the black gate widens below.

Janet’s silver eyes flare. Her white rapier erupts with frost, and the cell bars split apart in a cracking wave as she tears free of the illusion’s remaining restraints.

Janet rushes across the broken cell floor and reaches Lucien. He only smiles as her blade stops against a black veil around his hand and Kael drops free.
Cold Yuichi forces through the widening breach to face Lucien beside Janet. Crimson and white Espresso burns across his palm, costing him control of one numb hand, but the false prison breaks open around them.

Two captains emerge from the broken cell wall. One is a broad young adult man in dark armor with a shaved head; the other is a lean middle-aged woman in a gray mantle, her silver braid bound tight.
The Unit 6 captain drives a fist into Janet’s chest and sends her crashing through the far wall. The Unit 8 captain strikes Cold Yuichi next, throwing him through stone toward the adjoining passage.

Cold Yuichi’s shout echoes through the cells as the Unit 8 captain reaches Marie. Black bindings coil around her arms and waist, suppressing the fairies’ glow before she can summon their full strength.

The Unit 6 captain tears Janet away from the shattered wall and holds her at blade point. Janet struggles against the grip, frost flashing across her rapier as she looks toward Marie.

Cold Yuichi’s spiritual power detonates through his legs. He crosses the cell in a blur, reaching the Unit 6 captain before she can press Janet’s rapier aside.
His hands lock around the Unit 6 captain’s armored frame and halt her movement. The impact leaves her unharmed, but the surrounding shadows twist violently around Lucien and the Unit 8 captain.

Lucien’s black bindings snap outward. He seizes the Unit 8 captain, and both vanish through a folding darkness, abandoning the Unit 6 captain in Yuichi’s grasp.
A delayed spiritual counterforce slams into Cold Yuichi’s body. His grip breaks, pain tears through him, and his legs give way beneath the Unit 6 captain’s untouched armor.

Yuichi!
Cold Yuichi collapses unconscious onto the fractured cell floor, alive but still. Janet strains toward him while the Unit 6 captain remains standing, unharmed, amid the fading escape trail.
