Hades steps out of the gold-bright haze, robes whispering through the grass. Thanatos lowers his head in respect, and Ares feels the field quiet around them.

Hades

Hades

Thanatos. Ares. I see your watch has been steady.

Thanatos

Thanatos

As steady as Elysium allows, my lord.

Hades gives a small nod, then turns to the Grey Boy. His sternness softens at once, like iron cooling in a bath of light.

Hades

Hades

And you. Are you settling in, or do the fields still feel strange under your feet?

Linus

Linus

Strange, but kinder than I expected. I think... I think I can stay here.

The breeze moves through the grass in a slow wave. Thanatos watches Ares and Hades together, calm and attentive, as if measuring how much has already changed.

Hades

Hades

Good. Then tell me, nephew, what have you learned from this place so far?

Ares lets the quiet stretch, then turns his gaze from the boy to Hades. The words come plain and sure: safety in this place is found by setting fear down.

The Grey Boy lowers his eyes, then his shoulders ease another notch, as if the answer gives him permission to breathe more deeply.

Hades

Hades

That is well said. Fear keeps many souls clenched shut, long after the danger has passed.

Hades

Hades

Here, they are not forced open. They are welcomed until they choose to loosen their hands.

Thanatos watches Ares closely, his expression soft but measured, as though he has heard the lesson land and is marking its shape.

Hades looks back to Ares, and the stern lines in his face settle into something warmer, more certain. The field seems to hold that quiet with him.

Hades

Hades

You are learning the right lesson, nephew. Belonging is not earned by hardening yourself against every fear. It is found when you can stand among others and not be driven away from them.
