The client remains seated beneath the curtained room’s amber glow, one hand clamped over the Rhukkhadevata necklace. Beyond the door, Tyrrus waits in patient silence.
With his free hand, the client draws a small scrap of parchment from inside his wine-red robe. A noble seal, pressed deep into dark wax, gleams at its fold.

Veyran
The evidence is somewhere inside this tavern. I will not tell you where until you accept what searching for it may cost.
He sets the sealed scrap beside the necklace but keeps two fingers resting on it, as though even the wax might flee. His narrow smile carries no amusement now.

Veyran
You have until dawn. After that, the person who planted this trail may move it, burn it, or use it against us both.
A floorboard creaks beyond the curtain. Tyrrus does not intrude, but his presence settles over the room like a guarded oath. The client waits for Rose’s answer.

“"Of course I accept. This is what I do, it will be easy," I say dismissively. No need to pretend to be Rose for this man when he knows something is up with my identity anyway.”
SUCCESS (Fair Oratory, rolled +3)

Mariposo
Of course I accept. This is what I do. It will be easy.
The client’s fingers lift from the sealed parchment. His smile returns, thinner now, while the necklace and wax-marked scrap remain within Mariposo’s reach.

Then search the old wine cellar. Behind the third cask on the eastern wall, a loose brick conceals the evidence.
He produces a small iron key and lays it beside the parchment. Its teeth are dark with age, and a smear of blue sealing wax marks the bow.

Veyran
That opens the cellar gate. More importantly, I saw no one enter after hiding the trail. You have the advantage of surprise.
