The Price of the ThroneSubterranean heart chamber beneath the throne room
The Price of the Throne

Blue-gold light swells through the heart chamber, and King Nazareth coalesces from the runes in translucent regality. He stands where the ward-ring burns calm and steady, his gaze fixed on Eden, while Azreal remains ignored beside her.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

The throne is not held by virtue alone, Eden. It is paid for, blood by blood, debt by debt.

A second presence stirs in the light, smaller than the king and older in its posture, as if drawn from the chamber itself. A neutral elder in stone-gray robes steps out of the radiance, leaning on a carved staff.

The Ward-Sage

The Ward-Sage

Enough. The ward-ring does not crave pride, it craves balance. If the line breaks, this whole depth remembers how to fall.

Then hear the price of rule. What was fed to this ward must one day be answered, and the answer wears a crown.

And if Queen Eden means to keep it, she must know what was locked beneath her feet before she claims mastery over it.

Then i will descend even deeper until this power is truly mine to control.

The Price of the Throne

Eden steps forward, and the blue-gold burn underfoot answers her like a door hearing its true key. The ward-ring splits in light, not breaking, but opening downward into a darker vein beneath the chamber.

Then I descend deeper. This power is mine to command.

The stone around the ring lowers in a slow, deliberate circle, revealing a shaft of ancient cutwork. Azreal shifts to the edge of the opening, still and ready, while the Ward-Sage tightens his grip on the staff.

The Ward-Sage

The Ward-Sage

You do not merely stand above it, Queen. You stand on what was paid to hold it shut.

Cold air rises from below, carrying a faint, old ache through the chamber. The runes along the floor brighten in answer, and the steady burn of the ward-ring deepens as if something below has begun to wake.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

Look beneath your throne, Eden. The foundation remembers its debt.

Eden reaches the threshold of the newly opened descent, and the hidden depth below becomes hers to enter. For one suspended moment, the chamber shows her the truth that the throne has always rested on a hungry balance, and that her strength draws from it even now.

How are you telling me what to do, Nazareth, you're dead, i killed you.

How are you telling me what to do, Nazareth? You are dead. I killed you.

The dead king’s image flickers at her words, his outline thinning and then holding, as if her contempt strikes the spell itself. The chamber’s glow tightens around the ring below her feet, and the cold light from the shaft grows sharper.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

Death does not unmake a debt. It only leaves it unpaid.

The Ward-Sage

The Ward-Sage

He is not commanding you, Queen. He is warning you. This chamber is bound to a taken power, and taken power always asks its due.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

Look at the wards, Eden. They do not serve you freely. They remember the hands that fed them.

Azreal stays at the lip of the opening, rigid and silent, while the ward-ring’s burn deepens into a hungry pulse. Eden’s challenge lands cleanly, and with it the vision gives up its secret, the throne chamber feeling suddenly narrower, as if the stone itself is listening.

The Ward-Sage

The Ward-Sage

The old bargain is not gone. It is simply waiting for the price to be paid again.

Well, you're an immortal ghost, dad, so you're the one i chose as payment for the price

Then you are my payment, father. A dead king is still something this chamber remembers.

The ward-ring answers at once, its fire tightening into a bright, hungry circle. The dead king’s form draws thin, then steadies, as if the chamber itself accepts the offering.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

So that is your rule, Eden. You name the debt, and think naming it makes it yours.

The Ward-Sage

The Ward-Sage

It is enough to bind the ward, for now. But a payment is not the same as a victory, my queen.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

You have learned the first truth of power. It does not come clean. It comes with memory, with hunger, with the hand that fed it.

Azreal lowers his head beside the opening, silent and solemn. Below them, the cold shaft glows like a waiting mouth, while the ward-ring burns in a steadier, controlled pulse around Eden’s feet.

She deckares that i command this power now, i say when the debts paid and the final payment is your soul. She then firces the firmer kings soul downward and closes the seal behind him

The ward-ring shudders beneath Eden’s decree, then opens wide with a sharp blue-white flare. King Nazareth’s apparition is pulled down into the circle, his outline stretching thin as the chamber takes him into itself.

Queen Eden Siranteos

I command this power now. I set the debt, and I name the final payment.

The light tightens around the dead king like closing fingers. His face twists once, not in fear, but in recognition, as the seal drinks him inward and the shaft below goes still.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

Then remember this, Eden. Power is never yours alone. It is only held until it is answered.

The last of his form sinks beneath the ward-ring, and the chamber answers with a deep, resonant click. Stone settles over stone. The opening seals shut under Eden’s will.

The Ward-Sage

The Ward-Sage

The seal takes what is named to it. Your command is real, my queen, but so is the cost.

Azreal remains bowed at the rim, motionless and grave. The ward-ring steadies into a controlled burn around Eden’s feet, while the cold glow beneath the floor vanishes behind the closed stone.
