The Princess Returns to Judgment

Cool night air spills into the courtyard as Princess Eden Siranteos rises from the hidden passage. Blue ward-light glows under the stone behind her, and the stabilized cavern mouth breathes out a low, sealed hush.

King Nazareth and Queen Araneidan wait at the passage edge, still as statues. Their eyes track Eden's ascent, not with surprise, but with the measured calm of rulers who expected a reckoning.

Queen Eden Siranteos

Queen Eden Siranteos

I return with the truth. The kingdom is not guarded by your secret lies anymore.

The wind tugs at Eden's runes as she steps onto the courtyard stones. The seal below her remains tight, and the power she took from the Wyrm flickers bright beneath her skin.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

Then speak it plainly, daughter. If you have uncovered corruption, name it before us.

Queen Araneidan

Queen Araneidan

And if you have seized a deeper strength, Eden, let us see whether you mean to wield it as a ruler, or merely as a weapon.

The courtyard falls silent around them. Eden stands between the sealed depths and the throne above, with her parents waiting to learn whether she comes as heir, judge, or conqueror.

She didn't come as heir, judge or conquer. She came as heir, judge and conquer. Jer newfound strength pulses to life as she grabs the king and queen by their throats and lifts them off the ground, hokding one in each hand. She tells them that she knows they are bith as corrupt as the council was and they both will suffer the same punishment.

SUCCESS (Superb Strength, rolled +0)

The Princess Returns to Judgment

Eden closes her hands around both throats and the courtyard snaps still. King Nazareth leaves the stone cleanly, Queen Araneidan rising with him, each caught aloft in one iron grip as her runes burn brighter.

Queen Eden Siranteos

Queen Eden Siranteos

You are both corrupt. You fall by the same judgment as the council.

Nazareth’s fingers clamp once at Eden’s wrist, more reflex than resistance. Araneidan does not flail. Her gaze stays cold, measured, almost approving as she tests the hold against her own balance.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

If this is your verdict, daughter, then name the law you claim to serve.

Queen Araneidan

Queen Araneidan

Show me whether you mean to rule the throne, or only to seize it.

Below them, the hidden seal hums blue and steady. In the courtyard fountain, faint ward-runes answer with a brief flicker, as if the palace itself listens for the sentence.

The Wyrm’s distant irritation rumbles up from beneath the stone, then settles into a wary hush. Eden holds both royals suspended before her, and neither parent looks away.

I will claim the throne as rightful ruler and kead this kingdom the way i said i akways would. By removing what is wrak, like you and replacing it with what is strong, like me.

SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled -1)

The Princess Returns to Judgment

Eden lifts them higher, and the courtyard kneels into silence around the blue-lit seal. Her runes glare across the stone as the throne’s bloodline hangs in her hands.

Queen Eden Siranteos

Queen Eden Siranteos

I claim the throne. You rule by weakness, and I replace weakness with strength.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

Then take it, if you can hold it. A throne is not given, daughter, it is kept.

Queen Araneidan

Queen Araneidan

Good. Speak it plainly. If you mean to rule, then rule with judgment, not only force.

Eden’s grip stays firm. Nazareth’s chin lifts in defiance, but Araneidan’s eyes narrow with cold approval, measuring the sentence rather than the insult. The fountain runes flicker again, and the hidden seal hums steady beneath them.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

Then name your first law, Princess. Let the court hear what sort of sovereign stands above us now.

Below the stones, the Wyrm’s distant irritation stirs once, then settles into a wary hush, as if listening too. The answer waits on Eden’s mouth, and both crowns remain in her hands.

✓ Quest Accepted

Secure the throne's legitimacy before the court

I am not a princess any longer. I am a warrior queen. And my first decree is naming my self and my right hand servant as rulers of this land. And my second decree is the execution of the former king and queen.

SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +1)

The Princess Returns to Judgment

Eden’s answer lands like a verdict. Her grip loosens, not in mercy, but in command, and the two rulers drop to their feet before her in the moonlit dust.

Queen Eden Siranteos

Queen Eden Siranteos

I am no princess now. I am warrior queen. By my first decree, my right hand serves with me as ruler of this land. By my second, the former king and queen die.

Queen Araneidan

Queen Araneidan

Then the throne has found a hand fit to close around it.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

So be it. Let the court remember who speaks with power.

The fountain runes flare blue-white, then steady, as if the courtyard itself accepts the words. Below the stones, the Wyrm’s irritation gives a sharp, listening twist, then falls into uneasy obedience.

The queen does not flinch. She only turns her cold approval on the nearest loyal guards, and they freeze under it.

The sentence stands. The court must answer it, and the executioner must be named.

Secure the throne's legitimacy before the court

Eden grabs the kneeling Araneidan and Nazareth by their heads and declares that she is the executioner before she brutally slams their heads together, crushing bith their skulls, killing them instantly.

SUCCESS (Superb Strength, rolled -3)

The Princess Returns to Judgment

Eden closes the distance in a single, ruthless motion, takes each ruler by the head, and drives their crowns together. Bone cracks once, sharp and final, and both bodies go limp in her grasp.

Their blood does not spray far, but the impact rings through the courtyard like a struck bell. Eden’s scorched gauntlet shudders from the force, and the moonlight catches on the fountain runes as they flare hard blue-white.

King Nazareth’s grip slackens first. Queen Araneidan’s eyes stay open for the briefest instant, fixed on Eden with cold approval that never turns to fear.

The nearby guards do not move. Their silence turns rigid, waiting for the next command, while beneath the stones the Wyrm’s irritation flinches into sudden, wary stillness.

Queen Araneidan

Queen Araneidan

At last.

Eden releases the bodies. They crumple to the dust at her boots, and the courtyard accepts the dead weight with a hush that feels like surrender.

Eden commands aloud for the Wyrm to rise before her

Queen Eden Siranteos

Rise, Wyrm. Show yourself before me.

The stones answer first, bowing and splitting along the hidden seal. Blue-white light knifes through the cracks as something vast heaves upward beneath the courtyard.

Eden’s scorched gauntlet flashes with pain as the pressure surges back through her arm. The command still holds, but the cost lands in a hard tremor through her wrist.

A crown of stone bursts free at her feet, then a coil of scaled darkness rises after it, dragging dust and frost into the moonlight.

The Wyrm Below

The Wyrm Below

I rise.

The courtyard goes rigid around the words. The guards remain silent, and the fountain runes pulse brighter as the buried power shifts to meet Eden face to face.

I declare you as my king and i give you the name, Azreal. Accept this offee and i will give you enough magic to take on a humanoid form so you may properly rule by my side.

SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +1)

Then rise as Azreal. Take the name, and take the place I give you.

The Wyrm stills mid-rise, its long neck arcing through moonlight as if the word itself has weight. Blue-white runes in the fountain flicker once, then hold steady.

The Wyrm Below

The Wyrm Below

Azreal... yes. I accept.

Eden’s scorched gauntlet opens over the broken seal. The stolen magic answers her palm in a slow, bright thread, and the Wyrm drinks it with a visible shudder.

The Wyrm Below

The Wyrm Below

A shape is possible. A throne is possible.

Stone pulls away from the Wyrm’s spine in living shards, folding into a humanoid outline of dark armor and winged shadow. The courtyard guards remain frozen, watching in tense silence.

Azreal

Azreal

If I stand beside you, I will rule as you command.

Eden nods with approval and with a simple wave of her hand, she uses her magic to dress Azreal with royal armor that matches her own, decksring his status as her equal.

SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +1)

The Princess Returns to Judgment

Eden lets the silence hang, then gives a single approving nod. Her hand turns, and royal fire threads from her runes across Azreal’s form.

Dark stone plates flower into shape over his shoulders and chest, the magic fitting them with exact, courtly weight. The broken seal flashes once beneath him.

Azreal

Azreal

This is a true shape.

A crown-like gorget settles at Azreal’s throat, and the armor finishes in a sheen to match Eden’s own royal bearing. The courtyard guards do not move.

Queen Araneidan

Queen Araneidan

So. She crowns her own ally.

The fountain runes blaze blue-white behind them, and the moon catches on the fresh armor as if the courtyard itself has accepted the claim. Azreal stands taller, newly clad and unmistakably marked as her equal.

Azreal

Azreal

I wear your honor.

A low tremor passes under the shattered stones, not from attack, but from something below listening hard. The silence around the gathered court tightens, waiting for Eden’s next command.

From this moment onward you and I shall be known as Queen Eden and King Azreal of Siranteos.

SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled -1)

The Princess Returns to Judgment

Eden lowers her raised hand and lets the courtyard witness the shape of her rule. The shattered seal glows between them, the fountain runes still blazing as if the stone itself is listening.

Queen Eden Siranteos

Queen Eden Siranteos

From this moment on, you and I are known as Queen Eden and King Azreal of Siranteos.

Azreal bows his new armored head once, accepting the name as command. Around them, the guards hold their breath, and the shattered stones give a soft, uneasy tremor.

Queen Araneidan

Queen Araneidan

Then the court must learn the new titles quickly.

She studies Eden with that same cold approval, measuring the claim and finding it hard to refuse. The moonlight catches the scorched edge of Eden’s gauntlet.

Azreal

Azreal

By your word, Queen Eden.

The runes in the fountain flare once more, and the palace hush deepens into submission. Beneath the stones, something vast shifts with irritated restraint, then stills.

Secure the court's recognition of Queen Eden and King Azreal of Siranteos

First Eden walks over to the deqd bodies of Nazareth and Araneidan, and stabs her halberd into them to ensure they are truly dead.

The Princess Returns to Judgment

Princess Eden Siranteos crosses to the fallen royals and plants her halberd down through them, a final, sure test. The blade meets no living resistance. Moonlight and rune-glow wash over the still bodies, and the courtyard remains silent.

She then takes Azreal by the hand and leads him to the thrown room so they may take their seats as rulers of Siranteos.

SUCCESS (Fair Agility, rolled -1)

Eden takes Azreal’s hand and leads him across the shattered courtyard. Moonlight catches on broken stone, on the fountain’s blue-white runes, and on the silence of the watching guard.

Azreal follows without resistance, his new form moving with heavy, measured obedience. The air around him still feels wrong, like a storm forced into a kneel.

The throne room doors stand open ahead, and the path between is clear at once. No one bars it, no one dares.

Azreal

Azreal

Her command is the road. I follow.

They enter the throne room together, crossing beneath old banners and cold torchlight. The chamber is hushed, waiting to be claimed.

Eden guides him to the raised seats and the room seems to hold its breath. The court's silence stays intact, but its attention sharpens.

Azreal

Azreal

Your seat is ready, Queen Eden. My place is where you place it.

The Princess Returns to Judgment

Your place is by my side, as my general that keads our armies, as my king that helos me rule, and as my husband who will help form the next generation of royal blood.

SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +2)

Azreal

Azreal

Then I stand in every place you name. I take the charge, the crown, and the bond, and I bind them to you.

A low stir moves through the court, but no one dares break the hush. The open throne room doors frame the dark courtyard beyond like a sealed wound.

Queen Araneidan

Queen Araneidan

Coldly chosen. Publicly spoken. If this is your will, then let the court witness that you do not hesitate.

King Nazareth

King Nazareth

The line is secured. The throne knows its hand, and the kingdom knows its master.

Azreal steps to Eden's side on the dais and turns to face the hall with her. The torches flicker over the crowns, and the court remains bowed in tense, listening stillness.
