The blue fire gutters out. Eden stands on the shrine stair, and the cavern below opens like a buried throat. The Wyrm Below breathes somewhere in the dark, each slow pulse shuddering through stone.

Ancient conduits glow across the floor, not as wards, but as veins. Their light is being pulled inward, drawn down and away from the seal. The drain is deliberate.

Eden follows the nearest conduit with her gaze. It runs toward a black fissure at the chamber's heart, where the air trembles with heat and old hunger.

Above the breathing deep, faint echoes answer from the royal sigils behind her, as if the palace itself is siphoning power through the shrine. The kingship's magic is not protecting the seal, it is thinning it.

The path is clear now, reach the source below, break the drain, and face the Wyrm Below before the kingdom's own hidden power wakes it fully.

Eden rises from the stair and steps into the cavern’s dark throat. The chamber answers with a low, living shudder, but she does not stop.

She follows the pulled glow of the conduits across the stone, each line of light leading her toward the fissure where the drain vanishes into heat.

The nearer she comes, the stronger the pull becomes. The shrine behind her fades to a distant pulse, and the black split in the floor breathes warm air over her boots.

At the heart of the chamber, the drain is laid bare, not hidden now but exposed in the trembling stone like an open vein.

Eden reaches the source and stands over it, halberd set hard beside the fissure, the cavern’s heat crawling up her armor.

Below that open wound in the floor, something vast stirs once, then quiets, waiting for her next move.

Eden lowers her gauntlet into the split stone and closes her hand. The fissure bites back with furnace heat, but she locks on and pulls.

With a wrench of her arm and back, the seam tears wider. A sharp crack jumps through the chamber, and the drain line shivers apart.

The hot pull vanishes at once. Dust and grit spit up from the broken wound, and the glow in the conduits gutters to a weak, uneven pulse.

Something below answers with a deep, irritated thud, rattling loose flakes from the shrine ceiling.

Eden lifts her hand free. The gauntlet is blackened and smoking at the edges, but the flow is cut.

From the dark beneath the breach, the vast presence stirs harder, no longer fed in silence.
