In the service house’s dim spill of lantern light, the three men catch their breath. Dust drifts through the open door, and the billet’s noise feels distant for once.

Wulf

Wulf

They packed me in a store room for asking too much. The Company likes questions answered with bars.

Wulf rubs his wrists and glances toward the threshold, then back to Shimo. Kaelen stays near the wall, bow lowered but not put away.

Wulf

Wulf

I heard them speak plain enough, once. They want the billet, the gate, and the road beyond. Not to hold it. To strip it bare when they leave.

Shimo

Shimo

The service door makes a narrow, safer frame of the world.

Kaelen

Kaelen

So the bastards mean to rob the bones out from under the place.

Wulf gives a short, tired nod. The lantern shakes a little as someone moves far off in the yard, but no one comes near.

Wulf

Wulf

If you keep me with you, I can point out their stores and their habits. I want out, aye, but I want them beaten worse than I was.

Infiltrate the gatehouse

✓ Quest Accepted

Neutralize the Iron Company leadership

I accept Wulf's want to get revenge on his captors. I ask Kaelen if the gate house would give him a good vantage point to rain he'll on the enemy on top of striping the enemy of precious supplies lowering morale. I'll then ask wulf if he has any experience with weapons as I loot the guards for food or spare weapons for wulf along with gagging and tieing them up so we don't have any surprises from behind

SUCCESS (Superb Reasoning, rolled -1)

Shimo rises from the threshold and goes to the fallen guards. He works fast, stripping a dagger, a loaf heel, and a coil of cord from their gear before binding their wrists and stuffing cloth into their mouths.

Kaelen

Kaelen

A good haul. If we keep their supplies out of the fight, the yard feels it by dawn.

Shimo

Shimo

Will this place give you a clear view over the gatehouse?

Kaelen

Kaelen

Aye. High enough, if I get there. I can send arrows down where they crowd and break their nerve.

Wulf watches the cord tighten, then nods toward the spoils with hungry interest. The floor shudders again under a distant удар, and dust sifts from the beam above.

Shimo

Shimo

What do you know of weapons?

Wulf

Wulf

Enough to carry them, and enough to swing one when I must. Give me a club, a knife, anything solid, and I will not waste it.

Shimo finishes the search and sets the extra food and spare blade within Wulf's reach. Outside, boots scrape past somewhere in the yard, then fade. Kaelen lifts his bow and angles his head toward the door, waiting for the next move.

We will wait until the coast is clear and while waiting I hope to get as much inside info from wulf to get our odds better along with getting ready to exploit any weaknesses in the enemy and head towards the gate house to make our next setup and possible attack on the iron company

SUCCESS (Superb Reasoning, rolled +1)

The waiting turns useful. Wulf leans in low and names the workmen’s habits, which doors creak, which posts are often left thin, and where the company stacks oil and pitch when they mean to burn. He taps the floor once to mark the route toward the gatehouse yard.

Wulf

Wulf

They trust the south stair too much, and the postern watch drinks at shift change. If we move with the carts, we slip inside the yard with less notice.

Shimo

Shimo

Then we use their own routine against them.

Kaelen gives a short, approving grunt and checks the string on his bow. Dust shakes from the beam again, but the far bootsteps do not return.

Kaelen

Kaelen

Aye. Let them look elsewhere. I can cover the approach if we reach the yard quiet.

Wulf pulls the loaf heel apart, shares it cleanly, and points out a side hatch that opens onto a service lane. The route is set, and the trio ready themselves to move.

We will proceed stealthily towards our gatehouse target. Making sure to put ad much care and caution in every movement we make. "We've only gotten this far with our skills and trust in each other." I state along with " let's continue to set ourselves the best we can and cover each other. We will make it out to celebrate. " With a determined aura in hopes to embolden Kaelan and Wulf

Shimo leads with care, and the others match him step for step. No one speaks above a breath as they slip out through the side hatch, keeping to the wall and the cart tracks.

The service lane opens ahead, narrow and muddy, with stacked casks and broken crates forming a ragged screen. Somewhere beyond it, men shout over the battering at the yard.

Shimo

Shimo

We've only gotten this far with our skills and trust in each other. Let's keep covering one another, and we make it out to celebrate.

Kaelen

Kaelen

Aye. Quiet feet, sharp eyes. I have the lane from here.

Wulf

Wulf

And I know the next turn. Stay close to the carts, and the yard guard will miss us in the noise.

They move on. A pair of laborers rushes past the far end of the lane, never looking their way, and the three of them hold still until the footsteps fade.

When they move again, the gatehouse yard is right there, busy with shifting carts, splintered timber, and men hauling oil toward the inner doors.

Make a good observation to see when is the right moment in the enemy opening to slip into the yard to then make our way towards the gate house. Hopefully the enemy are too relaxed that we can exploit that and slip past without causing a commotion

Shimo studies the yard in silence, counting pauses between shouted orders and cart wheels. The busiest men cluster near the inner doors, while the far side of the yard thins every time a runner crosses with a torch.

Shimo

Shimo

The far side opens on the runner’s turn.

He lifts two fingers, then lowers them, timing the next gap as a pair of laborers drag an oil barrel across the muck. Kaelen shifts at once, and Wulf gives a short nod without breaking his gaze.

Kaelen

Kaelen

There. When the barrel clears, we go.

The three of them slip from the lane into the yard at the same moment a shouted command turns every head toward the inner doors. No alarm rises. No one looks their way.

Wulf

Wulf

Keep left. The gatehouse wall is just beyond the carts.

Shimo sees it clearly now, the gatehouse path opening under the noise, and the service traffic hides their passage for a breath or two longer than it should.

Follow Wulf's advice and keep to the left and head towards the gatehouse as planned stealthily

Shimo takes Wulf’s advice and hugs the left side, sliding between a cart and the wall. Boots scrape and voices trade above him, but the yard keeps looking the other way.

He passes under a sagging awning, then another stack of crates. The gap stays open, and the gatehouse wall comes up beside him, close enough to touch.

Wulf

Wulf

Keep with the wall. The service door is ahead, past the blue barrel.

Shimo reaches the barrel line without a glance drawn his way. From here, the gatehouse doorway sits in plain view, busy with Iron Company traffic but unguarded at the threshold.

Kaelen

Kaelen

He is in.

Kaelen settles into cover behind a cart, bow half-raised, while Wulf angles toward the wall to join Shimo. A torch-bearer turns at the far end of the yard, and the service door ahead waits for Shimo’s next move.
