Tarran tears through the split floor and drops into the sub-basement, stone grinding against her scales. Below, the villagers huddle in a cramped knot, faces white in the dimness. The air reeks of fear and violet ward-ash.

By the old law, you are judged. Begone, abomination.

Cold light spills from above as the apparition drifts over the opening. Its glow washes the cellar walls in pale violet, but it does not stop Tarran’s descent.

No, no, please, there’s nowhere left to run!

The nearest villagers recoil into the back wall, clutching each other and the last scraps of bread in trembling hands. One stumbles forward, then freezes as Tarran’s shadow swallows the room.

The apparition hurls a fresh surge of ward-light down into the cellar, but Tarran is already too close. The villagers’ hiding place has become a trap, and her hunger drives straight through it.

Tarran lands in the cellar and the trapped villagers break apart under her shadow. Bread, hands, and cries vanish into her jaws as she snaps forward in one hungry sweep.

The crumbling chalk charm on the floor flashes once, then is crushed under her weight. Violet ward-ash bursts around her snout and settles on the stones.

This is your judgment made flesh.

Another villager lunges for the back wall, but there is no gap left to reach. Tarran’s tail knocks them flat, and the cellar goes still.

She gulps down the last struggling bodies and the huddle of fear collapses into silence. Only scraps, dust, and the apparition’s pale glare remain.

Tarran lifts her head, the cellar now empty of prey. Above, the broken floor gapes wider while the cold light hangs over the ruin, waiting.
