The Stranger rushes in over the cracked ridge, light-blade raised high, fury sharpening every step. Tarran stands over the beacon dust, huge and still, her claws twitching once as the scent of the foe reaches her nose.

More prey.

The Stranger slashes first, the solid blade carving a bright arc toward Tarran’s throat. She meets the strike with horn and foreclaw, and the impact throws sparks across the stone.

You drew them here. You drew everything here.

Tarran surges forward anyway, all hunger and mass, forcing the Stranger back toward the ridge edge. Below them, the ruined village sits silent, as if waiting for the next thing that comes to answer her appetite.

No. Stay back. I will end this before worse things hear you.

The Stranger’s blade trembles, not from weakness alone, but from fear of what Tarran has already awakened. The fight is no longer just for the ridge. It is the first test of the hunters coming for her.

Drive off the hunters coming for Tarran

Tarran attempts to consume the stranger.

The Tarrasque and the Hunter

Tarran snaps her jaws shut on the Stranger mid-stagger, and the ridge shudders under the force. Light splinters from the blade, then gutters as the hunter disappears into her maw.

The Stranger’s cry cuts off at once. A spray of blood and bright fragments splashes over Tarran’s teeth, and the corpse’s weight drags one claw deep into the cracked stone.

Tarran swallows. The ridge falls suddenly quiet, save for her breathing and the whisper of loose pebbles skittering toward the drop.

The last sparks of the shattered blade die out by her feet, leaving only chalk dust and the dark village below.

Then a horn sounds faintly from far beyond the ridge, low and measured, carried on the wind like a warning.

Tarran remains alone on the broken crest, blood on her jaws, while distant shapes begin to gather against the night.
