Wind tears across the crag as Frieda gains the broken crest of Waischenfeld Castle. Below, the valley road bends silver-gray through the haze, and every rider on it is a possible threat, or the Inquisitor himself.

Sir Eleutherius
Hold here. From this height, we see them first, and they see little of us.
He crouches by a shattered arch, scanning the road while the witnesses cluster behind a fallen wall. The ledger stays wrapped tight against the stone, heavy with the truth it carries.

The Witness
If the Bishop's men come again, there will be nowhere left to run.
A far-off glint flashes on the road, helm or lantern in motion. Frieda can reach the Inquisitor only if she times the descent with care, using the ruin as cover before the riders below can close the gap.

Matthis
There, chaplain. That is the road they will take. If he passes at all, it will be soon.
The wind surges through the empty arches, drowning distant hoofbeats. Ahead lies the chance to step out from the ruin and carry the sealed proof to the court, before the Bishop's agents can seal the road shut.
“"Very well, let's go."”
