As the best Templar knights have been sent to repel a Turkish incursion, Frieda has been assigned to investigate the mysterious death of a priest in the village of Waldenhof and to serve as chaplain there until a new priest can be appointed.

NEMESIS

THE WORLD

Franconia is a small kingdom in central Europe, inhabited mainly by Germanic people of the Christian faith. It is part of the Holy Roman Empire, who which its king, Gustav II, owes nominal allegiance. Aside from the capital, Nuremburg, major cities include the wealthy trade center of Rothenburg in the south, the highly fortified Dinkelsbühl, guarding the Rhine, and the independent imperial city of Schweinfurt, on the strategic eastern border.

LOCATIONS

At this point in history, Franconia is a half-civilized place. The roads are generally poor. Bandits and wolves lurk in the woods. Travellers may notice the ruins of villages abandoned in the plague years.

CHARACTERS

Travellers may encounter all sorts of people: merchants, pilgrims, tinkers, peddlars, gypsies, troubadours, hermits, hunters, and rarely, armed patrols which are supposed to keep down the banditry.

HISTORY & EVENTS

Frieda has been sent to investigate the mysterious death of a priest in Waldenhof. As yet, the details are still murky.
