Escape to the Mountain Ledge

Enanita bursts out onto a narrow mountain ledge as the sanctuary groans behind her. Ice needles the air. Below, a switchback path cuts through the snow, lit by the relic's gold.

Keep moving. If they hear the wall come down, we'll have a company on us.

The trail is real now. Down there, the Magistrate's reach has to walk like anyone else.

Stone cracks overhead. A ridge of frost gives way near Enanita's boots, and loose shards skitter into the void. The path narrows toward a dark cleft in the rock, half hidden by blowing snow.

The descent is steeper than it looked from inside.

A gust tears across the ledge, and the relic flares brighter in Enanita's hand, throwing long shadows over the cliff face. The first bend of the mountain trail becomes clear, leading toward the northern spires below.

Escape to the Mountain Ledge

Enanita catches the path at once, boots biting into packed snow as she drops onto the first bend below the ledge.

The relic's glow washes over black stone and jagged ice, turning the switchback into a pale ribbon under her hands.

Keep low. If the sanctuary spits anything after us, the cliff will carry the sound.

This trail was hidden for a reason. Whoever sealed the archive did not want company.

Behind them, a fresh crack splits the ledge, and a spill of grit tumbles into darkness.

Ahead, the cleft in the rock opens wider, and the first shelter of the mountain spires comes into view through the snow.
