The alley behind Neon Viper is all brick walls, wet pavement, and pulsing bass bleeding through a loading dock door. Oni Sakurai steps into the spill of red club light and finds bodies scattered across the ground, protesters down in a rough semicircle.
At the far end, a kid stands perfectly still in the rain mist, small hands loose at their sides. Their eyes glow with a strange, steady light, and the last few protesters keep turning on each other like puppets with cut strings.

The Kid
You were late. They were easier to use than I thought.
One masked protester staggers toward another, snarling through a dazed grin, while a second backs away in panic. The kid does not move, only tilts their head, and the mob frays faster.

Oni Sakurai
The light is too steady. This is not normal crowd control.
A phone buzzes somewhere under a fallen sign. Sirens rise in the distance. The kid finally looks straight at Oni Sakurai, smile thin and knowing.

The Kid
Are you here to stop me, or save them first?

Stop the kid's crowd control
“Grab the fallen sign to shield myself from the crowd as i approach the child”
SUCCESS (Legendary Strength, rolled +0)

Oni Sakurai snatches up a fallen protest sign, splintered pole and all, and brings it up between herself and the alley lights. The wet cardboard catches the glow, turning into a crude moving wall as she steps forward.
The kid’s smile twitches. The nearest protesters hesitate, their jerky anger breaking for a heartbeat as Oni’s shield blocks the sight line.

Oni Sakurai
The sign is enough to keep the glare off her face.
Masked Protester 2 stumbles back, suddenly seeing the pattern in the others’ movements, while the one lunging freezes mid-step, confused by the pause.

The Kid
No, keep going. Don’t let her close the distance.
But the command lands wrong. Too many heads turn toward the kid now, not the fight. In the red spill of the club light, the manipulation starts to show its seams.

Masked Protester 2
Wait... why are we even fighting?
“I shout that the kid is controlling them”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +0)

Oni Sakurai lowers the sign just enough to get her voice over the alley noise, and the words hit the wavering crowd cleanly. Heads snap toward the kid instead of each other.

Oni Sakurai
They are controlling you.
The accusation lands like a spotlight. Masked Protester 1 falters, fists loosening. The kid’s calm face tightens at last.

The Kid
No. Don’t listen to her. Look at them, they are the one making this worse.

Masked Protester 2
I felt it, I felt that push... we were all turning on each other.
The nearest protesters begin talking over one another, anger giving way to shock. The spell on the alley does not vanish, but it is broken enough to be seen.
The kid’s glow sharpens, exposed now by a dozen suspicious stares, and the crowd pulls back instead of surging forward.
