Ben hauls through the maintenance hatch and drops into a sterile corridor. Behind the glass, rows of cryo pods fade into the dim, each one holding a sleeping human.

Worker drones drift between the pods, quiet and efficient, checking seals, cabling, and life support readouts. They do not even turn toward Ben.

A nearby wall monitor flashes a route map, highlighting cryo storage, drone control, and an administrative core deeper in the ship. Ben’s B.A.S.T.I.O.N. directive snaps into focus, secure personnel, then secure the ship.
The Maintenance Drone
Humans are under preservation protocol. We keep them asleep until a colony can support them. Until then, we run everything.
The message is clear. To fulfill the mission, Ben has to get past the drone-run systems and reach the personnel holding the ship together. A sealed bulkhead at the far end of the hall unlocks with a soft chime.
