The police station is behind them now, a black ruin in the mirror as the convoy lurches onto the coastal highway. Daniel North rides hard in the lead vehicle, the road bucking under shattered concrete and broken glass.

Unknown Officer
Dagger Actual, this is Falcon Base. Repeat, this is Falcon Base. New grid sent now. Get eyes on the anti-ship battery and hold it.

Sgt. Douglas
That sounds real enough for me. We move like hell, we protect that battery, and we do not let anyone near our rear.

Justin Forester
The signal is clean. No loop, no static tricks, just a live voice and coordinates.
Justin slaps the fresh bearings onto the map and points to a coastal ridge ahead. The battery sits inland from the beaches, the last hard shield against the invasion fleet already gathering offshore.

ROC Soldier 1
If those coordinates are true, then they need us there now. The beach line will be the next target.
Daniel North guns the truck forward as the humvees fan out on either side, all three vehicles straining toward the battery. Above the surf, distant shapes flicker in the haze, and every eye in the convoy keeps lifting to the sky.

Reach the anti-ship battery
“The group IDs enemy drones, and starts firing on them as the convoy rolls for the AS Battery. It Daniel and others gun down the drone waves as they go.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Firearms, rolled -1)

A shape snaps out of the haze above the right shoulder of the convoy, then another, then three more, small and fast against the smoke-stained sky. Daniel swings the heavy gun up as the lead vehicle bucks over broken pavement.

Daniel North
Drones.
The first burst rips through the nearest machine, and it tumbles in a hard spin toward the surf. Justin flinches in the rear seat, then clamps both hands on the radio set instead of the map.
Sgt. Douglas twists in his seat, one hand on the dash, eyes on the sky behind them. The second truck keeps pace, ROC Soldier 1 rising in the hatch to add fire down the road.

Sgt. Douglas
Keep them off us. Do not let them get a clean dive.
Daniel tracks the next pair and cuts them apart before they can line up on the convoy. One drifts down smoking near the shoulder, the other bursts over the lane, scattering black fragments across the hood.
The last drone breaks hard for the lead truck, but ROC Soldier 2 leans out and helps finish it, the gunfire stitching the air clean.
“The group approaches the anti ship battery, meeting the artillery men that man it and setting up a hasty defense parimiter around it... in a public tennis court!”
SUCCESS (Fair Agility, rolled +2)
