Rebecca closes the spellbook after confirming the journey is safe, though the healing wards still hum faintly beneath Klause’s skin. Strenuous magic remains forbidden.

You may travel with your father, but keep your magic to simple observation and harmless shaping. If the ache worsens, you return immediately.

Rebecca stays at Larent Mansion to monitor the remaining wards. Jacob accompanies Klause along the road, carrying a travel pack and keeping his pace deliberately measured.

The Little village appears beyond the fields, its boundary path lined with weathered posts and drying herbs. Villagers, a mixed group of adult human men and women in weathered earth-toned work clothes and sturdy boots, recognize Jacob’s son and gather near the entrance.

No duel today. Watch the path, notice what changes, and protect people without spending more strength than the moment requires.

Several villagers offer respectful greetings to Jacob, then turn toward Klause with relieved smiles. A child, a small human boy with tousled brown hair in a faded green shirt and patched trousers, points toward the boundary stones, where one ward-mark flickers unevenly.

There is your first judgment. Tell me what the village needs, and what it does not.

I’ll fix it, Father, but first I want to see the village. I’ve never seen it before. Walking the path will be fine alone, I promise.

Before Jacob can answer, Klause runs along the village path. He reaches a broad willow overlooking the fields, then spots several village boys surrounding a frightened young elf girl near the boundary stones.

The boys fling wet mud at her faded blue dress and silver hair. Klause raises one hand and releases a sharp burst of wind across the path.

The gust scatters mud, rattles the boundary posts, and sends the boys stumbling backward in alarm. They flee toward the houses, shouting over one another.

The spell succeeds, but the sudden casting pulls hard against Klause’s healing side. His ache flares sharply, and the wind leaves his fingers trembling.

Klause crosses to the elf girl and helps her rise, brushing loose mud from her sleeve without touching the bruised places. The boundary mark steadies behind them.

Liora

Liora

Thank you. I thought they would never stop.

“Your welcome im klause and you are i say casting a healing spell on her and washing away the mud on her dress”

You’re welcome. I’m Klause. What’s your name? I’ll heal you and wash the mud from your dress.

Klause gathers a gentle current of mana, guiding warmth over the elf girl’s bruised places before drawing clean water from the damp air around them.

The healing spell eases her soreness, while the water lifts mud from her faded blue dress and silver hair. The runoff sinks harmlessly into the thirsty earth.

The effort pulls sharply against Klause’s healing side. His fingers tremble, and the boundary stones flare as the spell consumes more mana than the delicate work should require.

Liora

Liora

I’m Liora. Thank you, Klause. It doesn’t hurt anymore, and my dress is clean.

Liora, a young elf girl with silver hair and bright green eyes, smooths the restored blue fabric. Behind her, the boundary mark settles into an even glow.

Klause, return to the path. You protected her, but your side is warning you again. We will address the ward after you rest.

Where’s your family, Liora? Or are you on your own?

Liora

My mother is in the village, helping at the herb sheds. My father is away with the boundary watch. I came here to gather willow leaves.

Liora glances toward the village roofs, then grips the edge of her clean blue dress. Her bright eyes remain wary, but the fear has left her voice.

Liora

Liora

The boys found me before I could finish. They do this when the adults are busy, but I did not want to trouble my mother.

Jacob reaches the path behind Klause, his travel pack settled over one shoulder. He studies Liora, the steady boundary stones, and the trembling in Klause’s fingers.

Then we walk her home. Her family should hear what happened, and you should learn that protection includes returning someone safely.

Liora

I can show you the way. My mother will want to thank you, Klause.

“Ok, and how about when no adults are around you can come to my mansion”

When no adults are around, you can come to my mansion. I can show you the grounds and help you practice safely.

Liora’s hopeful expression falters. She looks past Klause toward the village roofs, then down at her clean blue dress, weighing the invitation carefully.

Liora

Liora

I would like to see your mansion, Klause, but I cannot go there alone. My mother says I must not enter noble homes without an adult knowing.

Jacob’s gaze settles on Klause, calm but unmistakably firm. The invitation has reached Liora, but secrecy has closed the path he offered.

Jacob Larent

A protector does not ask someone to hide a visit from family. If she comes to the mansion, her mother must know and agree first.

Liora

Liora

I can ask her after I return. If she agrees, perhaps she can bring me another day, with your mother or father there.

Liora turns toward the herb sheds, and the boundary stones glow steadily behind her. She remains willing to visit, but only through her mother’s knowledge and an adult’s supervision.

FAILURE (Mediocre Persuasion, rolled -1)

Liora leads them between the herb sheds, keeping close to the village path. Her earlier hope has become cautious, shaped by the rules she must obey.

A middle-aged elf woman in a russet work dress steps from a drying shed, silver hair braided over one shoulder and a basket of herbs balanced on her hip.

Liora

Liora

Mother, this is Klause. He stopped the boys, healed me, and cleaned my dress. He also invited me to visit his mansion.

Liora's mother

That is kind of him, but visits to noble homes require an adult’s knowledge. You will not go there secretly.

Jacob Larent

She understands the boundary now. If you agree, her first visit can happen with you present and Rebecca informed.

Liora's mother

Liora's mother

Perhaps. I will speak with her father when he returns, then send word to the mansion. Until then, Liora stays with the village.

Liora’s shoulders ease, though the private adventure Klause imagined has become a supervised possibility. Jacob gestures toward the road, reminding him that the journey home still awaits.
