Klause remains beneath the root arches beside the seal’s dull fragments. His arm hangs numb at his side, and the hollow tilts whenever he tries to shift his weight.

Footsteps hurry through the silver ferns. Liora emerges in her fitted training armor, breath controlled but urgent, carrying only the wooden practice sword at her belt.

Liora

Liora

Do not move quickly. I felt the disturbance from the mansion and followed it here. Let me protect the retreat.

She steps between Klause and the darkened path, planting her feet beneath the roots. The forest spirit watches silently from the ferns, pale eyes fixed on the broken stone.

Liora

Liora

You will explain what happened without using more magic. Start with the seal, then tell me how badly you are hurt.

My vision is still blurred, and the mansion ward remains steady.

Behind Liora, the distant mansion glows through the trees. No one else has followed; Jacob and Rebecca remain with Elianora, while the forest spirit waits for Klause’s answer.

It hurts pretty bad.

Klause leans against Liora, and she braces his weight without hesitation. Together they leave the root hollow, pass beneath the silver ferns, and reach the forest’s outer path.

Liora

Liora

Keep your arm still. We are leaving the trees, and you will not spend another drop of mana.

The mansion’s wardlight grows clearer beyond the trunks. Then gray shapes burst from the undergrowth, a pack of wolves fanning across the path with bared teeth and raised hackles.

Liora

Liora

Behind me, Klause. Do not cast. I can hold them long enough for us to reach the ward.

Liora draws her wooden sword and plants herself between Klause and the pack. The nearest wolf lunges, but she turns its charge aside with a sharp, controlled strike.

They follow the disturbed current, not hunger. Reach the wardstone, and the mansion’s protection will bar their path.

“Then out of the shadows a black haired musclar manman with universe for eyes looks at me and into my soul and sees im reincarnation and goes to kill me”

The shadows beyond the wolves unfold into a tall, muscular man with black hair and eyes like swirling universes. He steps onto the path, silent and impossibly calm.

Vael

Vael

There you are. The soul wearing this child’s life does not belong in this world.

His gaze fixes on Klause and seems to pass through skin, memory, and bone. The forest goes still as he recognizes the life hidden beneath the name.

Liora

Liora

Behind me! I do not care what you think you saw. You will not touch him.

The man raises one hand, and the air folds toward Klause with killing force. Liora meets it with her wooden sword as the mansion wardstone ignites.

The ward has recognized him. Stay within its light, young protector.

Klause reaches the wardstone’s circle and faces the universe-eyed man directly. The barrier holds, but its flare burns Liora’s wooden sword to splinters and leaves Klause’s numb arm throbbing sharply.

“Who even are you, I ask as he liora goes to blitz him again and the man comes and trades blows with her then creats a bubble that blows her away and looks at me as I ask how do you know that”

Who even are you? And how do you know about my soul?

Liora surges forward before the universe-eyed man can answer, her empty sword hand cutting for his wrist. He turns, and the two exchange rapid blows beneath the wardstone’s light.

The universe-eyed man catches Liora’s shoulder, pivots with her momentum, and releases her without striking. He then draws both hands together, shaping a dark, translucent bubble between them.

Vael

Vael

Stay behind the ward, child. This concern is not yours to carry.

The bubble expands with a silent pulse. Liora is blown across the path and lands hard beyond the ward’s edge, rolling to a stop among the silver ferns.

The man lowers his hands and looks directly at Klause. The barrier remains intact, while the forest spirit’s pale light trembles beside the broken seal.

Vael

Vael

I am called Vael, a witness beyond your world’s turning. I know because your soul bears memories that do not belong to this life, and I have watched the boundary reject them.

“Just then he wraps liora in vines making her trapped as he rush at me and stabs me in the chest and cuts my left arm, with the last of my mana i mix it all every element into on beam and fire it at vael just for him to make a shield and the shield cracks as it proves is the strongest in existence”

Dark vines burst from the soil and coil around Liora, pinning her arms and legs beyond the ward’s edge. She strains against them, unable to reach Klause.

Vael

Vael

Your protector cannot save you from what you are.

Vael crosses the ward’s boundary in a blur. His weapon drives into Klause’s chest and slashes across his left arm before the barrier can force him back.

Liora

Liora

Klause! Stay standing! Do not let him take you!

With his remaining mana, Klause gathers fire, wind, earth, water, and every other element into one violent, radiant beam. The spell erupts from him toward Vael.

Vael raises a translucent shield. The beam strikes with a thunderous flash, driving him backward as cracks spread across the defense, proving even the strongest shield in existence can be damaged.

Impossible. That power should not exist within a soul bound to this world.

“He then release a fraction of his power at me knocking me so far back into the mansion as I passout and he leaves thinking im dead”

Vael’s cracked shield collapses into dark fragments. He releases only a fraction of his power, yet the pressure strikes Klause like a collapsing mountain and tears him from the ward’s circle.

Klause flies through the outer ward and across the garden, crashing through the mansion’s open doors. Layered protections catch part of the impact, but darkness overtakes him before he reaches the floor.

Liora

Liora

Klause!

Beyond the threshold, the mansion wards flare around Klause’s fallen body. Their interlocking patterns absorb the remaining force and seal his injuries beneath a quiet blue glow.

Vael

Vael

The soul is silent. The ward cannot preserve what I have already broken.

Vael turns from the mansion and dissolves into the dark path, leaving the vines slack around Liora. The forest spirit’s light gathers over the broken seal.

The mansion ward caught him because his own power answered its pattern. If he wakes, that connection may teach him how to defend his soul.
