Dawn finds Nhal and Slaan descending the familiar road toward Phandelver. Behind them, the ridge settlement keeps its violet lamps burning, while the settlement storyteller and herald remain with their people.

The silver path fades beneath their feet as the first town roofs appear through the trees. No chain, summons, or archive mark follows them, only memories freely carried.

We return with no obligation to become their representatives. We can share what we learned, if you wish, and let the Hall remain one home among many.

Phandelver wakes around them: shutters opening, carts rolling toward market, and wardens changing watch near the Hall of Welcome. Ordinary life has made room for extraordinary histories.

Slaan

She has seen a community built without a keeper. I hope the Hall can feel like that to her, not another archive waiting to name her.

Your room is still beside mine. The keys remain under shared watch, and no one here gets to decide what your memories mean.

The Hall’s restored lattice answers with a soft, many-voiced shimmer as they approach. Its doors stand open, awaiting neither a claimant nor a keeper, but whoever chooses to enter.

“I enter the Hall beside Slaan”

Nhal enters the Hall beside Slaan, but the restored threshold does not admit her shadow. Violet light gathers around her and gently holds her at the doorway, without force or pain.

Inside, the lattice opens for Slaan, then turns its many voices toward Nhal. Her reflection appears across the doorway as Sereth, Nhal, and countless unrecorded possibilities, none permitted to replace the others.

Slaan

It is not refusing you. It is refusing to decide which name should cross first.

The doorway reshapes into a broad arch facing the Hall’s inner courtyard. The threshold no longer resembles an entrance to an archive, but a place where memories may be offered from outside.

Slaan

We do not need to force our way through. We can begin here, and let the Hall learn you as you choose to be known.

Nhal

Nhal

The lattice recognizes every name, but opens no single path.

Slaan remains beside Nhal rather than entering alone. Together they stand beneath the new arch, while the Hall’s distributed light settles around them like a welcome with no demand attached.

The Hall’s threshold held Nhal gently beyond it, while its lattice shimmered with Sereth, Nhal, and all the selves no record could contain.

Nhal

Nhal

No one name. No single home. This is enough.

The doorway opened into an archway toward the courtyard. Beyond it, Slaan waited, the shared keys resting safely under their watch.

Then we begin here, and elsewhere.

Nhal and Slaan stood together before the restored Hall of Welcome, free of summons, claims, and borrowed authority. The Hall opened to those who wished to enter, while Nhal remained welcome without being contained. Phandelver became one home among many, and that was enough.
