Marin shuts the office door behind them, and the bazaar's noise drops to a distant murmur. The room is spare, a desk, two chairs, a single lamp that flickers yellow against stained walls.

She turns from the window, coat tails settling around her boots. Her face is hard, but the edge in it has softened for Tracy.

You did well out there. Better than most grown men I trust with a blade.

The Guard stays by the door, silent and watchful, while Tracy has a moment to breathe. The office feels like a pocket carved out of the city, quiet enough to hear the lamp buzz.

That facility you found, it matters. More than the map, more than the liar we just dragged out of the square.

Marin eases into the chair opposite Tracy, resting both hands on the desk. For the first time since the bazaar, she looks less like a ruler and more like someone choosing her next words carefully.

Tell me everything you saw, Tracy. Start wherever you want.

Learn what Tracy saw in the buried facility

"It's easier to show you," I say. Then I project the layout and images into Marin's mind.

Tracy

It's easier to show you.

Tracy presses two fingers to her temple and sends the facility open between them, a rough plan of corridors, shafts, and sealed chambers blooming into Marin's mind.

The office falls away for a breath. Dusty light, rusted supports, and a buried door with warning marks all hitch together in the same shared picture.

Marin Tohinta

Marin Tohinta

A buried site under the salt works... and she is seeing it this clearly.

Marin's hands loosen on the desk. Her stare sharpens, not at Tracy's face now, but at the image Tracy is pushing into her.

Marin Tohinta

Marin Tohinta

There. Keep that steady. I want every door, every mark, every place your vision stopped.

Tracy's answer lands cleanly, and the map settles. Marin sees the layout, the buried scale of it, and the weight of something built to be hidden.

Then we are not chasing a rumor anymore. We are looking at a real thing, and it reaches deeper than my office or the bazaar.

I show Marin the warning marks

Tracy sends the warning marks next, stark symbols and caution lines cut into the buried door and its frame. The image leaves her with a sharp nosebleed, warm and sudden.

Marin Tohinta

Marin Tohinta

Those marks are not decoration. They are meant to keep people out.

Marin stiffens in her chair as the meaning lands with the picture. Her hand slides off the desk edge, fingers flexing once.

Marin Tohinta

Marin Tohinta

That is a warning, not a label. Someone expected danger inside.

The Guard shifts at the door, one boot half-turned toward the latch, ready to close the room if Marin gives the word. The lamp gives a thin flicker over the desk.

The marks are clear enough to read now.

Good. Keep going, Tracy. If there is more on that door, I need it now.

I show Marin the rest of the symbols

Tracy pushes the rest through, not as words but as a chain of signs: the last marks on the door, the ribs of a corridor, the tilt of a dead light above a sealed chamber. Marin goes still as the image takes shape.

Marin Tohinta

Marin Tohinta

A hidden facility. Old, buried, and meant to stay buried.

The lamp shivers. Marin’s hand closes on the desk edge until her knuckles pale, her eyes tracking details only she can now see.

Marin Tohinta

Marin Tohinta

These symbols are a map of restraint. Not to a cache, to a sealed thing.

At the door, the Guard shifts closer, one shoulder angling toward the latch, watching Marin for the first sign she wants the room locked down.

Marin Tohinta

Marin Tohinta

If you saw more, give it to me now. Every mark matters.

Tracy sends the final pieces. The last symbol resolves into a warning she understands at once, and Marin’s stare hardens with the same realization.

Marin Tohinta

Marin Tohinta

Then we are not dealing with a rumor. We are dealing with a buried danger, and someone alive still knows where it is.
