The gale carves the pass in white grit. Grimlock stands over the buried shale, his satchel glowing faintly at his hip. The Old Hermit plants his staff in the rock and stares straight at the hidden map.

The Old Hermit
You hid it too late. The storm has found the stone already.
A new figure strides out of the sand with impossible balance, hood wrapped tight, one hand gripping a hooked spear. He stops between Grimlock and the hermit, boots skidding only a little on the loose rock.

The Hooded Spear
Step away from the pass, or I take the beast first and the relic after.
The dire wolf slips low at Grimlock’s side, hackles raised, facing the spear. The Lead Merchant backs into the stone wall, frantic eyes flicking from the newcomer to the storm-shape on the horizon.

The Lead Merchant
That one is not with me. Grimlock, he means to seize it all, map and stone alike!
The hermit lifts his glowing staff, its pulse answering the Sun-Stone through Grimlock’s satchel. The hooded stranger leans in, spear poised, while the hidden shale trembles under the wind.

Survive the hooded spear’s attack
“dire wolf and i both attack”
SUCCESS (Good Melee Combat, rolled +0)

Grimlock surges forward with the dire wolf at his side. The spear point dips under the wolf’s snap, and Grimlock’s strike drives the hooded fighter off balance into the drifting rock.
The hooded stranger stumbles hard, one boot sliding out from under him. His hooked spear clangs against the pass wall and jars loose a spray of pebbles.

The Hooded Spear
Still your beast, or I make the storm do my work for me.
The dire wolf lunges again, forcing the spear back. Grimlock’s pressure keeps the attacker from regaining his footing.

The Lead Merchant
Yes, press him, Grimlock. Don’t let him recover!
The hermit’s staff flares once, then dims as the hidden shale shifts beneath the wind. The glow at Grimlock’s hip steadies, and the hooded stranger freezes, realizing he has lost the opening.

The Old Hermit
Hold the line... the pass will swallow us all if that stone breaks free.
“dire wolf flanks and i attack”
SUCCESS (Good Melee Combat, rolled +1)

The wolf cuts left, Grimlock drives right, and the hooded spearman is boxed in between fang and steel.
Grimlock’s whip snaps low at the spear hand while his dagger comes in high, forcing the point wide and stealing the man’s balance.
The stranger grunts and twists, but the pass gives him nowhere to plant his feet.

The Hooded Spear
Back off, both of you!
The dire wolf slams into his flank, and the hooded fighter goes down on one knee in the grit.
His hooked spear slips from his grip and skids across the stones, out of reach.
For a beat, the storm noise thins around the huddle of bodies, and the Sun-Stone stays buried and steady at Grimlock’s hip.
