Nogandar
The air is thin, biting, and glorious. For the first time in an age, I am untethered from the crushing weight of the earth.
Nogandar ascends, his tattered wings catching the frigid mountain updrafts. He hovers above the jagged, pulsating peak.

Nogandar
The Hive of Eulstria. A sprawling, organic rot eating away at the very bones of the world.
Below him, the mountain shifts, veins of translucent silk stretching like muscle fiber. In the distance, the Iron Spires pierce the moonlight.

Nogandar
She thinks to trap me in this cage of stone and silk. She does not yet know what it is to face a true Lord.
Nogandar turns his gaze toward the Spires. A flicker of cold, violet light dances across the distant horizon, signaling the Queen's true seat of power.
“I land in a safe, remote from danger spot”
SUCCESS (Great Athletics, rolled +1)

Nogandar
My wings are broken, but the currents of this peak are strong enough to carry my weight. I will not descend into the abyss yet.
Nogandar maneuvers through the freezing gale, banking toward a protruding shelf of granite detached from the main Hive structure.

Nogandar
A steady landing. My claws find purchase in the frozen lichen.

Spider Scout
The gargoyle flies! It breaks the mandate of the Queen! Alert the webs!
The creature scuttles from a hidden fissure, its multi-faceted eyes reflecting the moonlight as it taps a rhythm against the stone to signal the swarm.

Nogandar
If it sends the signal, the entire mountain will descend upon me. I must silence it before the vibration carries further.

“I cast sleep on the spider and flee”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled +1)

Nogandar
The creature thinks its tapping will summon an army. It does not realize the depth of the void I have returned from.

Nogandar
Your master's webs will remain silent tonight.
Nogandar extends a massive, clawed hand. A pulse of violet arcane light ripples from his palm, heavy and suffocating.

Spider Scout
The clicking slows. The air... it is so heavy. My legs feel like lead.
The Spider Scout slumps against the rock face, its limbs folding inward as it drifts into a forced, magically induced slumber. The frantic rhythmic tapping stops abruptly.

Nogandar
The path is clear for a moment. I must move before the patrols realize this one has failed to report.
