The boat eases against the marina dock, and Scott steps onto the edge to secure the lines. Casey gathers her towel and bag, keeping the walkway clear.
Casey
You handled that really well, Jules. You stayed calm, listened carefully, and made the whole outing easier for everyone.
Casey steps onto the dock after Scott signals that it is safe, then waits beside her secured bag. Scott checks the boat once more before releasing the boarding route.
Casey
Are you going to work future outings here, or will you come back only as a customer?
The question hangs in the ordinary bustle of the marina. Casey adjusts the strap of her bag, while Scott pauses with one hand on the dock line and listens.
Scott
That part is up to Jules, but she has already shown she can support an outing properly. I would be glad to discuss more work with her.
Scott finishes securing the boat and turns toward Jules instead of returning immediately to the shop. Casey waits nearby, her warm question leaving Jules’s place in the marina community unusually visible.

“"If it gets me more diving, I'll gladly sign on for more work with these outings."”
SUCCESS (Good Conversation, rolled -1)
Jules
If it gets me more diving, I’ll gladly take on more work with these outings.
Scott studies Jules for a moment, then nods. Casey remains beside her bag, listening as the casual question turns into a practical opportunity.
Scott
Then I’m taking that as a real willingness to work. I can put you on more afternoon outings as deck support, with supervised diving when the assignment and conditions allow.
The offer lands plainly: more paid outings and a defined route toward additional dives. Scott’s expression stays practical, but his decision is already made.
Scott
The cost is availability. I’ll need you to reserve two Saturdays next month as backup, and if you accept an outing, I need you here on time without last-minute changes.
Casey
That sounds like a good arrangement. You already know the work, and Scott clearly trusts you with it.
Scott turns toward the shop and gestures for Jules to follow. He will add her to the next available outing list, while the two reserved Saturdays become the favor attached to the opportunity.
