The hidden stair ends in a chamber of obsidian and cold starlight. Constellations are carved across the walls, the same pattern Eladrin knows from Ithryon, but here they pulse like a living pulse beneath stone. The glyph-line climbs to a dais at the chamber’s heart.
At the dais stands the architect of the corruption, a hooded elven figure with ink-dark gloves over a spread of brittle pages. The ledger’s seal-mark gleams on a pedestal beside them. Their head lifts, as if they have been waiting for Eladrin all along.

The Hooded Archivist
You came to see whether the past can be changed. So did I.
Liora halts a step behind Eladrin, her gaze sharp on the ruined sigils. Kaelith and Caelir remain farther up the stair, braced for whatever answer this chamber gives. Behind the hooded archivist, the walls shimmer with overlapping traces of old wards and newer, crooked corrections.

The Hooded Archivist
The mechanism below was not broken, it was persuaded. Every correction, every warning, every failure was made to lead here.
The words land like a key turning in a lock. If the archives were altered by design, then the catastrophe Eladrin fled may have been edited, not simply foretold. The chamber’s heartbeat quickens, waiting for his next move.

Uncover the origin of the forged prophecy
“i draw my bow and threaten the acrhivist "revewal yourself, and who did this, or die!"”
SUCCESS (Good Ranged Weapons, rolled +1)

Eladrin lowers the staff and, in one smooth motion, draws his bow instead. The point settles on the hood beneath the dais lights, steady as the chamber’s pulse.

Eladrin Világ
Reveal yourself, and who did this, or die.
The Hooded Archivist does not flinch. One gloved hand rises, slow and deliberate, and the hood folds back just enough to show an elf’s face lined by sleepless years and ink.

The Hooded Archivist
My name is still mine. I unpicked the ward, yes, but not for myself alone. I was following a correction already written into the walls.

The Hooded Archivist
Vaerith the Unwritten set the first turn of it in motion, then taught me how to hide the seams. I only kept the chamber from collapsing when the lie began to rot.

Liora
So the prophecy was forged here, in pieces, not spoken once and sealed forever.
The archivist inclines their head toward the seal-mark pedestal, where brittle pages tremble under the blue glow. Kaelith tightens his grip on the ledger, and the glyph-light beneath the sealed floor flickers as if answering the name.
