Rozah holds the grove still. The violet roots pulse under her feet, hungry and listening, while the tribe pushes out of the trees in a wary line.

A path of pressed thorn and dim root-light leads straight to the stone ring. It is the only safe route home, and every goblin can see who made it.

Some of the tribe stare at Rozah with awe. Others flinch from the living mantle on her skin, afraid the forest might answer her wrong.

She held the way open for us. Without her, this thicket swallows us whole.

The roots throb harder at the crowd, then settle when Rozah keeps her focus. The tribe sees it plainly now, her command is the difference between a path and a slaughter.

Rozah lowers the throne’s strain and steps onto the pressed-thorn path. The violet roots move with her, held tight and low, like a beast on a short chain.

She reaches the stone ring at last. The bone charms tremble overhead, but they do not snap or scream, they only shiver in her passing.

Behind her, the first goblins step into the opening without being touched. The forest’s hunger draws back from their feet, sullen and unwilling.

Rozah reaches the far side of the ring. The path stays open behind her, and the tribe begins to file through in a shaken but steady line.
