The frosted partition shivers with a seam of white light. Vale hangs half pinned over the workbench, bleeding and wide-eyed. Jory flinches behind Bluze as static hisses from the radio and something tall moves in the glow beyond the glass.

Dr. Soren Vale
No, no... it found us first.

Jory
Bluze, there, behind the screen!
The hidden figure pushes the partition open by inches. Dust spills through the gap. A thin, masked shape is visible only in fragments, one hand on the frame, the other holding a cable like a leash.

Dr. Soren Vale
If you want out, take it down now!
Vale scrambles low for the floor, trying to crawl clear of Bluze’s reach. Jory stays back, tense and ready to bolt. The lab’s only exit yaws open behind the hidden presence, blocked for the moment by its shadow.
Everything tightens around the split of light, the wounded scientist, the frightened boy, and the thing in the partition gap. Bluze has the path, if he takes the next strike.
“I gore the figure on my horns”
SUCCESS (Legendary Melee, rolled +3)

Bluze lunges into the seam of light and the hidden figure jerks forward into his horns. The cable slips free, snapping across the floor as the masked body folds back through the torn partition.
Dust bursts in the glare. The figure hits the far side hard, and the bright gap opens wide enough to show the exit beyond.
Vale stares up from the floor, frozen by the strike. Jory’s breath catches, then he leans out from behind Bluze, eyes wide at the opening.
The radio spits a burst of static under the lab’s metal hiss. A clipped command crackles once, then dies as if the speaker has lost the room.

Jory
Bluze... you did it.
The torn partition hangs open, the shadow gone from the threshold. The path out is clear now, and the lab feels suddenly small around the bodies left behind.

The cable lay slack across the floor. Bluze stood in the torn partition, breathing hard, while Jory stared at the open exit.

Jory
You actually did it. I thought we were trapped for sure.

Bluze
Not tonight.

Dr. Soren Vale
...
Bluze and Jory left the scrap-yard behind, carrying only what they could keep and the relief of still being alive. The lab's secrets stayed buried under rust and broken steel. Behind them, the facility went quiet, and the road ahead belonged to them.
