After the relay dies, a maintenance hatch below the broken floor unlocks with a manual clunk. An exhausted young woman emerges, small and slim, with long black hair braided down her back, vivid green eyes, a torn dark jacket, and scavenged supplies strapped across her chest.

Maya
Easy. I came through an old service line while looking for a fortified settlement. My name is Maya Gonzales.
Maya keeps one hand near a battered pack and the other around a folded route map. Dust streaks her face, but her wary gaze moves from Orin to the silver-haired elf, then to the damaged security constructs.

Maya
The relay was masking something. See this route? It points toward infrastructure that current transit records do not acknowledge.
She spreads the map across the relay housing. Its inked line disappears beneath obsolete transit layers, ending at a blank sector beyond Leonidas's recorded network. The Eye of Anylasis catches a faint signal beneath the paper.

Orin
A hidden passage, an unauthorized relay, and a survivor carrying the only usable map. That is a poor collection of coincidences.

Caelen
If the relay concealed the passage, opening it may have exposed us to whoever built the system. We should inspect the map before moving anywhere.

“I use the eye of anylasis to scan the route maya is talking about and connecting the dots that someone and something is close by, i roll my eyes as I look to orin waving that we should get out of here, but before I do I see a green eolite canister in caelen pocket and grab it as quick as I can, Ouuuuu I say this is some pureee stuff, losing my head I snap back and look to orin”
FAILURE (Good Agility, rolled -1)

The Eye of Anylasis scans Maya’s folded route and overlays its hidden signal. The line is not dormant: something nearby is transmitting through infrastructure concealed beneath the obsolete network.

Jostan Ordomo
The route, the relay, and the signal converge close by.
Jostan rolls his eyes and waves Orin toward the exit. The quick motion twists his bruised ribs, but he keeps moving and reaches for the green canister tucked against Caelen’s pocket.
His fingers catch the canister, but not its grip. Caelen turns sharply, and the cylinder slips free of Jostan’s hand before he can pocket it, stopping against Caelen’s glove.

Jostan Ordomo
Ouuuuu. This is some pureee stuff.

Caelen
Do not confuse fast hands with permission. This canister is sealed for a reason.
The Eye marks the canister as unusually clean eolite, but its seal remains intact. Caelen draws it close while Orin studies the route’s converging signal, and the group’s escape now depends on moving without the stolen power source.

“Does orin want to see the unrecorded infrastructure?”
NO (Likely, rolled 73)
Orin studies the faint signal beneath Maya’s map, then folds the route closed with two precise fingers. His attention stays on the exit, not the hidden infrastructure.

Orin
No. I do not want to see what is transmitting down there. I want us away from it before it notices the relay is dead.
Maya’s grip tightens around the folded map. The route she hoped would lead toward safety now looks like a door Orin refuses to open.

Maya
If it leads to a settlement, turning away may leave us with nothing. I did not cross half the ruins to ignore the only path I found.

Caelen
The signal is not proof of shelter. It could be a lure, a control node, or another warded system waiting for contact.
Orin gestures toward the passage back to the tram, making his preference plain. The concealed signal continues pulsing beneath the map while the damaged hall listens in silence.
“Ughhhh I say in my head, straighting myself up I bring up the fact that we are all here and may never see each other again, I then ask if anyone wants to miss out on something that theyll be thinking of years from now, I have now decided to go with maya and drag orin by the arm and waving to caelen to join, we then mark our to the unrecorded infrastructre”
SUCCESS (Legendary Persuasion, rolled +0)

Jostan Ordomo
Ugh. We are all standing here, and we may never see each other again.

Jostan Ordomo
Does anyone want to miss something they will still be thinking about years from now? I am going with Maya. Who is coming?
Jostan straightens, then catches Orin by the arm and pulls him toward Maya. His bruised ribs protest the turn, but he keeps moving and waves Caelen forward.

Maya
Then stay close. I will lead, but if this passage reaches the settlement, we reach it together.

Orin
You have persuaded me, Jostan. That costs you a favor, and I will collect it when the route stops being sentimental.

Caelen
I will come. But I inspect every ward we encounter, and I will not let enthusiasm open one blindly.
Maya unfolds the map and leads them beneath the broken relay chamber. Orin follows under protest, Caelen brings up the rear, and together they mark their route into the unrecorded infrastructure.

“I notice my ribs are getting worse and knwoing what I know about eolite I can be healed or numb for a few hours, I go to caelen to peruade him to let me have the eolite, they dont know the capablitles but I dont want them to know to much so i say to him, caelen that eolite is my medicene and my answer just so i can get him curious I then put my hand out and ask him to let me see, were gonna be with each other for a while and Im not gonna stop asking”
SUCCESS (Legendary Persuasion, rolled +1)

Each breath catches harder as Jostan approaches Caelen. The silver-haired elf keeps the sealed green canister close, watching Jostan’s hand and the route ahead.

Jostan Ordomo
Caelen, eolite is my medicine and my answer. Let me see it. We will be together for a while, and I am not going to stop asking.
Caelen studies Jostan’s face, then the careful way he protects his ribs. Maya pauses with the map half-open, while Orin watches the negotiation without interrupting.

Caelen
Medicine and an answer are two different claims. But your persistence is clearer than your explanation. Hold out your hand.
Caelen places the sealed canister in Jostan’s palm instead of merely displaying it. His fingers remain nearby, ready to reclaim it if the seal shifts.

Maya
If it helps you keep moving, use the time. Just do not let the canister become more important than reaching the settlement.

Caelen
You may inspect it, Jostan. Do not open it yet. I want to know why it reacts to the relay before anyone spends what is inside.

Sealed Eolite Canister
“I do not listen to caelen and open the cannister but before I do I make sure I can get up ahead, we are on route but up ahead is unkown for all of us, I offer to scout and I walk away from the group, time for some science I say to myself, I open the cannister and grab the gun powder from one of the bullets in my Jimmy, I mix how I did before but this time i grab to loose wires and a piece of something flamable to make a a fire with my cybernetic body im able to hold the fire and control it in a way, I heat the eolite mixed with gunpoweder and it becomes a paste, I rub it on my body and feel the numbness around my ribs, I come back to the group and dissappointed looks, I stop and scratch my head in the little bit of shame I have”
FAILURE (Legendary Reasoning, rolled +1)
Jostan tests his footing, then moves ahead along the unrecorded route. The passage narrows into ribbed conduit, with darkness swallowing whatever waits beyond the next bend.

Jostan Ordomo
Time for some science.
He cracks the sealed canister and spills a measured portion beside powder drawn from one Jimmy round. The loose wires he expects are absent, and no reachable flammable scrap can feed a flame.
Jostan mixes the materials anyway, using controlled cybernetic heat without ignition. The eolite breaks into a dull, conductive paste, but it never reaches the reaction needed for medicine.
He rubs the paste across his ribs. A thin numbness spreads over the bruising, then fades into prickling static as the unstable mixture separates against his skin.
Jostan returns with the opened canister and a disappointed look. Caelen’s expression tightens, Maya lowers the map, and Orin studies the residue without offering comfort.

Caelen
You failed to make a treatment, but the paste changed when it touched your cybernetics. That reaction traces the same signal beneath the route. We can use it to locate the source without opening the next ward.
Jostan scratches his head, shame briefly visible before the Eye of Anylasis catches a faint directional pulse from the residue. The failed paste has revealed a usable path forward.

“Now following the path onward the signal gets closer and we step into a open area of nature overgrown and realize they are exaclty where they need to be, from the start Ive been using the eye and the scanner to mark where we have been going so we know how to get back but now we are where we need to be”
SUCCESS (Good Perception, rolled +1)

The residue’s directional pulse leads them through tightening conduit until the metal gives way to open air. Vines, saltgrass, and luminous moss overtake a forgotten infrastructure basin beneath Leonidas.
Jostan keeps the Eye of Anylasis and scanner active, tagging each junction, bend, and access panel with a return trail. The route resolves behind them as a clean, navigable record.

Maya
This is the sector on my map. The old line ends here, but the signal is coming from below the vegetation.
The overgrowth opens into a broad circular clearing. Buried pylons ring its edge, their dead surfaces threaded with fresh blue light that matches the signal in Jostan’s scanner.

Caelen
We are exactly where the concealed route points. Those pylons are not ruins. They are marking a sealed system beneath the clearing.

Orin
Good. You found the destination and preserved our way back. Now show me what is still powered before anyone touches the ground.
The scanner confirms the clearing as the signal’s source: a buried access structure sits at its center, concealed beneath roots and wet soil. Jostan’s return markers remain visible behind him.
“As I step closer I start to feel the Ki and look over to the others to see if they can feel it to, its calling to me but I stay on my toes, I go orin and tell him to go to the center as I sense he has no Ki in him, as he walks he sees a button and presses it cause the gorund to rumble and the center to start to decend, the rest of hop on the platform and realize the settlement peeking through as they get lower and lower, this is where the signals was taking us and now we know where it came from, in my head I want to figure out who the person is that made this and see if they can give me some more eolite”
SUCCESS (Good Perception, rolled +4)

Jostan steps toward the clearing’s center. Warm Ki prickles through his cybernetics, strongest beneath the buried structure, while the blue-lit pylons answer like a synchronized circuit. The Eye identifies eolite-energy signatures below the platform.

Jostan Ordomo
Can any of you feel that? Orin, go to the center. You have no Ki in you, so you should be able to work the controls safely.
Caelen raises one gloved hand toward the pylons, cautious and uncertain. Maya feels only the damp air. Orin crosses the clearing, testing each step while the signal strengthens beneath him.

Orin
No Ki, perhaps. But I do have hands. Let us see what the dead city hid under this soil.
Orin finds a recessed button beneath the moss and presses it. The ground rumbles, roots tear free, and the circular center descends as a broad platform, carrying him into a shaft of blue industrial light.
Jostan, Caelen, and Maya jump onto the lowering platform before the rim sinks away. Far below, a settlement emerges through the haze: stacked shelters, lit walkways, and watchtowers hidden beneath Leonidas.

Jostan Ordomo
The signal came from here. Whoever built this may know where the eolite supply is stored.
