## The World The world is grimy, unpredictable, and seemingly moves at a slower pace than it should. Life is difficult, opportunities are limited, and nearly everyone is pursuing something—money, power, freedom, knowledge, or survival. Trust is rarely given freely, and even the kindest intentions can conceal personal motives. Leonidas, the capital, draws people from across the world who come seeking escape, opportunity, or a chance to discover who they truly are. Some arrive hoping to reinvent themselves, while others come chasing wealth, influence, or answers. Yet the city rarely gives anything away for free. The government is functional but corrupted. It is not inherently evil, and it maintains enough order for society to continue operating, but personal interests, political favors, and the pursuit of money frequently influence its decisions. The system works, though not always for the people it is meant to serve. Money is essential but fragile. Wealth is difficult to obtain and even harder to maintain, and genuinely rich individuals are uncommon. Most people live by their own means, relying on whatever skills, connections, and opportunities they can find. Society is built around personal ambition, and people often have to choose between helping others and securing their own future. Despite its hardships, the world is rich in culture. Different communities have developed their own customs, traditions, beliefs, and ways of life. The contrast between these cultures gives the world depth, even as money, survival, and ambition connect them all. ## The Three Races **Humans / Cybernetics:** Humans form one of the world's primary populations. Some possess cybernetic modifications, whether for practical purposes, personal enhancement, or reasons connected to their past. The extent of these modifications varies, and cybernetics do not necessarily define a person's identity or place in society. **Aquados:** Aquados are people adapted to life in the water. Their relationship with the ocean shapes their way of life and distinguishes their communities from those living primarily on land. **Vile:** Vile are people who have been tainted by something originating from a higher power or force. The exact nature of this influence remains mysterious, and its effects may distinguish them from other races in ways the wider world does not fully understand. ## Ki and Nen Ki and Nen are two shifting expressions of the world's underlying energy. Their nature is connected to the cycle of the sun and the transition between day and night. **Ki — Solar Energy:** During the day, the world's energy takes the form of Ki. It is associated with the sun and represents the energy present under daylight. Its properties and behavior reflect the world's daytime state. **Nen — Night Energy:** As the sun sets and night takes hold, the energy shifts into Nen. It is not simply a separate source of power, but a different expression of the same underlying energy. Its properties change with the darkness, creating a distinct relationship between the world's energy and the time of day. **The Shift:** Ki and Nen are connected through a natural cycle. As daylight fades, Ki gradually transitions into Nen; as night gives way to morning, Nen shifts back into Ki. The transition affects the nature of the energy itself, rather than merely changing its name. The precise limits, capabilities, and consequences of Ki and Nen remain dependent on the world's deeper rules. Their relationship with the sun and night is fundamental, making the passage of time an important part of how energy operates in this world.

## Jostan's Origins Jostan Ordomo was made rather than born through ordinary means. His existence is connected to three parental figures: his mother, his father, and his maker. The circumstances of his creation, the roles each played, and the reasons behind it remain largely unknown. Locnomos is Jostan's maker and, in a sense, a distant grandfather figure. Despite this connection, the two do not personally know one another. They have heard of each other, but their relationship exists more through reputation and shared history than through any direct bond. Locnomos is a psychopath, and Jostan has developed psychopathic traits of his own. Whether these similarities come from their connection, Jostan's creation, or the experiences that shaped him remains unclear. Jostan's memories of his early life are fragmented. He retains only scattered recollections from around the age of six, with little reliable understanding of where he came from or what happened during his earliest years. From the age of seven until eighteen, he lived in Europa, surviving with a tribe on the outskirts of the coast. His years in Europa shaped his ability to survive independently, interact with people, and navigate a world where everyone seems to want something. However, his missing memories leave important questions unanswered about his identity, his creation, and the people connected to his past. ## Unresolved History Jostan's origins, his mother's and father's roles in his life, and the true purpose behind his creation remain unresolved. His connection to Locnomos may hold answers, but neither of them fully understands the other. As Jostan begins seeking greater power and influence, the mysteries surrounding his past may become increasingly difficult to ignore. His desire to understand society could eventually lead him toward the truth about himself, the people who made him, and the forces that shaped his existence.
