Coco arrives beneath Aurelia’s Royal Citadel without memory of crossing the distance. Green radiance spills across the enchanted crystal, turning the white stone into something dreamlike and severe.
Above the city, a trembling rift twists open in the sky. Its edges shudder like torn cloth while dark motes descend toward the streets below.

Maelis
You there! Stand still. Did you cause that rift?
The spellcaster thrusts one hand toward Coco, a half-formed barrier flickering around their fingers. Nearby crystals dim as the falling motes disturb the Aether.
Across Aurelia, ward-lamps sputter and enchanted fountains lose their rhythm. The air grows thin, carrying a pressure that seems to bend every breath toward the opening.

Maelis
Answer me! The citadel’s wards are failing, and those things are spreading through the lower streets.

Maelis
That radiance matches the old accounts. No ordinary summoning should reach Yggara from here.

Learn the truth behind Coco's awakening
“"What? what are you talking about? a rift? Wards? what do you?" *I quell over in pain as I have a massive headach* "Ahh"”
SUCCESS (Good Health, rolled +0)

Coco
What? What are you talking about? A rift? Wards? What do you mean?
Coco’s knees buckle beneath him. He catches himself against the crystal floor as a massive headache drives white sparks across his vision, his fingers scraping stone.

Coco
Ahh.

Coco
The pain is behind my eyes, and the rift is pulling at the air.

Maelis
The rift is above Aurelia. It is not a harmless tear. Its motes are draining the city’s Aether and spreading through the lower streets.
The spellcaster lowers their hand slightly, suspicion sharpening their voice. A thin thread of blood slips from Coco’s nose onto the pale crystal.

Maelis
The wards protect the citadel and regulate the city’s magic. They are failing because the rift reaches toward Yggara. Your radiance may be connected, but I need the truth now.
“"radiance?! what are you talking about look Idk what you want from me man I dont even know where Im at right now give me a break man" * I try to stand*”
SUCCESS (Good Health, rolled -1)

Coco
Radiance? What are you talking about? Look, I don't know what you want from me. I don't even know where I am right now. Give me a break, man.
Coco plants one boot beneath him and pushes away from the crystal floor. His arms tremble under the headache, but he forces himself upright, standing with one hand braced against the glowing wall.
The effort tears a sharp ache through his skull, and his palm scrapes across a jagged crystal seam. A thin line of blood joins the drop already staining the floor.

Coco
The crystal is cold beneath my hand, and the air keeps pulling upward.

Maelis
You are beneath Aurelia's Royal Citadel, in the ward chamber. If you truly do not know how you arrived, then the rift may have brought you here.
The spellcaster studies Coco's unsteady posture, then glances toward the trembling radiance above. Their barrier tightens into a pale ring around one wrist.

Maelis
I will give you a moment to breathe. Then tell me what you remember before the light appeared.
“"..... I dont know I really dont im trying to remeber I think I was at my parents house and then I went to the store for chips?.. and then im here" *I look down not reconing how i got theses cloths on*”
SUCCESS (Superb Willpower, rolled -2)

Coco
I don't know. I really don't. I'm trying to remember. I think I was at my parents' house, then I went to the store for chips... and then I'm here.
Coco lowers his gaze and studies the black travel clothes wrapped around him: reinforced straps, metal buckles, bracers, pouches, and worn boots. None feel familiar, yet they fit him precisely.

Coco
The clothes are mine, but I don't remember putting them on.
His fingers find a small journal tucked beneath one belt, its cover softened by use. The sight of his own handwriting confirms the clothing belongs to him, though the memory refuses to return.
The effort costs him another pulse of pain. Blood slips farther from his nose, and the crystal beneath his palm briefly flares with green light.

Maelis
Parents. A store. Chips. Those are not names I recognize, but you speak of them as though they are ordinary.

Maelis
The journal may tell us more than your memory can. May I see it, or is there some reason you keep it hidden?
“"No! I mean I dont know you and this book seems important im going to hold to it how do we fix the rift?"”
SUCCESS (Superb Willpower, rolled -1)

Coco
No! I don't know you, and this book seems important. I'm holding on to it. How do we fix the rift?
Coco pulls the journal close beneath his cloak, keeping one hand wrapped around its softened cover. The green crystal answers with a low, resonant hum.

Maelis
Very well. Keep it. I will not take what you cannot afford to lose.
The spellcaster turns toward the failing ward-circle and presses both palms against the crystal floor. Pale sigils unfold beneath their boots, linking the chamber to Aurelia's distant defenses.

Maelis
We must sever the rift's pull on the city, then anchor its edges before it widens. Your radiance may be the only force capable of reaching its center.

Maelis
Stand within the circle and channel whatever power answers you. Do not force it blindly. If the rift recognizes you, resistance may make the breach worse.
Above, another tremor rolls through the citadel. Dust drifts from the vaulted ceiling as the ward-circle brightens, waiting for Coco to enter.

“"ok i dont know how to do that but il try"”
SUCCESS (Superb Willpower, rolled +2)

Coco
I don't know how to do that, but I'll try.
Coco steps into the ward-circle. The sigils brighten around his boots as he raises his hands, uncertain but careful, and lets the answering power gather without forcing it.

Coco
The power feels warm in my hands, while the rift feels cold.
Green radiance threads from Coco's palms into the crystal floor. The chamber's hum deepens, and invisible currents bend toward him instead of tearing upward.

Maelis
Yes. Hold it there. Do not shape it yet. Let the ward carry the strain.
Far above, the rift contracts around its trembling center. Across Aurelia, failing ward-lamps flare back to life as the draining pressure eases from the city.

Maelis
You have reached the center, somehow. Now the breach is anchored, and Aurelia is no longer being pulled into it.
