The seal flares from violet to a blinding white. Stone hums under Drix’s boots as the Stranger’s chant tightens the air like wire.
The Hooded Figure lunges in, arm outstretched toward the rune-line, trying to break the suppression before it locks shut.

Drix
The white surge is crushing the seal, not mending it.

The Stranger
Hold back, or it will wake harder.
Below the floor, the black seam twitches again, a thin crack of darkness shivering through the light. The chamber shudders, and dust rains from the broken rafters.
Drix has a split-second opening, his magic can steady the seal, or help force the truth from whatever presses beneath it.

Steady the seal
“I form a barrier around us then I reinforced the seal”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled -3)

Drix snaps his staff low and spreads his spellbook hand wide. A pale shell blooms around the three of them, thin as glass but firm enough to catch the first shock.
The seal answers at once. White light crawls along the rune-lines, and the black seam shivers inside the barrier instead of tearing outward.

Drix
The pressure is still there, but the shape holds.
Drix threads a second pulse through the floor sigils, reinforcing the broken ring where it buckles most. Dust lifts off the stones in a tight circle, then falls away.

The Stranger
You felt that, did you? Good. Then you know what is pushing back.
The hooded figure falters at the edge of the glowing pattern, their hand still outstretched, as the warded shell forces the chant to bend around Drix’s work.

The Hooded Figure
He has bought us seconds, not safety. Hold it steady.
The seam stops widening. It keeps twitching under the renewed strain, but the watchtower does not shake apart, and the air fills with the bitter smell of scorched stone.
