Asbjorn Bjornulfsson walks out from the clearing’s edge, and the chanting drops behind him like a fading drumbeat. The pines hush around his steps, while smoke lies low over the roots.
At his side, the wolf spirit keeps pace, pale and translucent, its tread soundless in the moss. Only Asbjorn seems to meet its steady gaze.

Asbjorn Bjornulfsson
It stays with me.
The Shieldmaiden watches from the ring’s edge, her stance loosening now that the rite is done. The Village Elder draws a slow breath, as if pleased by the quiet after so much sacred sound.

The Stranger
The old path has opened for you, Asbjorn Bjornulfsson. Walk it well.

The Child
Will it lead him to the gods?

The Shieldmaiden
If he listens, perhaps. Some guides do not speak with words.
The wolf spirit turns its head toward the darker trees beyond the firelight, then waits, calm and patient, as if inviting Asbjorn to choose whether to follow deeper into the forest or linger a little longer in the warm circle of faces.
“I kneel as I hand the child my world serpent braclet then I smile "The Gods are always nearby. It takes dedication for you to notice the signs..." I look up and see a Valkyrie riding across the skies as I point it out "See? The Valkyries are making themselves known to us."”
SUCCESS (Good Theology, rolled +1)

Asbjorn kneels beside the fire and extends his arm toward the child. He slips free the bracelet shaped like the world serpent and places it carefully in the child’s hands.

Asbjorn Bjornulfsson
The gods are always nearby. It takes dedication for you to notice the signs.

The Child
I will watch for them. I will not forget.
The child closes small fingers around the bracelet. Its metal catches the firelight, while the wolf spirit remains still beside Asbjorn, pale eyes turned toward the sky.
Above the pines, a rider crosses the clouds in a broad sweep of silver and dark. Her horse seems formed from moonlit mist, and the air trembles faintly in her wake.

Asbjorn Bjornulfsson
See? The Valkyries are making themselves known to us.

The Shieldmaiden
I see her. Whether omen or vision, it is a sign worth honoring.

Uncover the hidden truth about Asbjorn's power
“I smile as I see the Valkyrie then I take a moment to draw a rune circle into the ground that glows bright blue as Odin stands behind me then he speaks through me "The runes are written, The wolf spirit is bound to Asbjorn, Fear not for we are always near, We shall hear your call only when you have performed the correct sacrifice."”
SUCCESS (Fair Willpower, rolled +2)

Asbjorn smiles at the Valkyrie crossing the clouds, then kneels beside the fire. With one finger, he draws a circle of runes into the dark soil.
The carved marks flare bright blue, casting cold light across the roots and gathered faces. The wolf spirit turns toward him as an old, one-eyed figure appears silently behind his shoulders.

Asbjorn Bjornulfsson
The runes are written. The wolf spirit is bound to Asbjorn. Fear not, for we are always near. We shall hear your call only when you have performed the correct sacrifice.
The words leave Asbjorn’s mouth in a voice layered with distant thunder. Odin’s presence, embodied as an elderly god with a broad, weathered face, long gray hair, and a sturdy build beneath a dark blue cloak fills the clearing without wind or flame, and the blue circle closes beneath Asbjorn’s hand.
The wolf spirit steps across the glowing boundary and settles beside Asbjorn’s knee. Its pale form sharpens, tethered now by a faint blue line of runic light.

The Shieldmaiden
Odin has marked the bond plainly. Honor it, Asbjorn, and do not mistake a god’s hearing for a god’s indulgence.

The Child
Then the wolf will stay with him, and the gods can hear him?
