Yllamaris slips into the tight lane behind the market, where damp stone drinks the sunlight and old fish guts slick the cobbles. The crowd noise fades to a wary hush behind him as he moves toward the city wall.
He keeps his hood low and his pace measured, letting stacked crates and leaning tenements hide the line of his shoulders. Ahead, a broken seam in the wall shows itself, mortar crumbling around a narrow gap.
The air turns colder there, a thin breath from the wildlands beyond. Somewhere back in the plaza, a voice calls out, then stops short, lost in the maze of alleys.

Bram
There he goes. Keep your heads down, let him pass.
Yllamaris reaches the breach and braces a hand against rough stone. Loose grit spills under his fingers as he tests the opening, small enough to make him squeeze through, but real.

Elowen
Yllamaris. If you leave now, you leave the truth behind with you.
Beyond the wall, grass stirs in the windless dark of the fields. Behind him, the city holds its breath. Ahead, one more step means open ground.
“*I pause only to say - "you first came to me not knowing anything, now you come as an illusionary image knowing everything... Leave me be... Don't follow... Forget about me." *I run away”
