Crystalious remains on one knee in the blood-stained snow, his burned palm exposed. Cryos presses close, shielding him with his good wing as Azhurak lowers his enormous head.

Azhurak
The heart remembers every bond it carried. Cryos’s frost now runs through my paths, and your mark anchors them both.

Cryos
Rrha... old fire beneath white scales. I feel the mountain through you, and you feel my breath.
Lunaris stands watch above the freed dragons gathering below. He turns his silver-speckled head as the three voices overlap, their low calls trembling through the clearing.

Lunaris
The prison made chains from separation. Now the bonds answer one another. Azhurak guards the mountain, Cryos carries its cold, and the warden joins both.

Azhurak
Not joins, star-marked one. He chose the path that restored us. The mountain recognizes his blood, but the choice remains his.
Below, Warden Maelis directs the rescued wardens and dragons toward shelter while the scouts secure the temple entrance. No hunter rises from the shattered prison.

Discover the cost of Azhurak's bond with Crystalious
“my chest starts to pound heavily as if something is trying to escape”

Crystalious’s chest begins to pound heavily beneath his armor, each beat deep and forceful, as though something within him strains toward the open mountain air.

crystalious
The pounding follows the silver mark, not my heartbeat.
The blue flame tattoo and Azhurak’s silver sigil brighten together. Cold gathers around Crystalious’s ribs while a warm pulse answers from the ancient dragon.

Cryos
Rrha... something moves through our bond. It is not breaking you. It is seeking the sky.

Azhurak
Be still, white warden. The mountain has found the chamber within your spirit where my paths touched your blood.
A pale wisp of blue-white fire rises from Crystalious’s chest and passes through his scales without harm. It curls above him like a small unfurling wing.

Azhurak
There. A remnant of the return-path, freed from my heart and given shape by your bond with Cryos. It is no chain, but a beacon.
Director's note
large enought to ride
“the light merges with cryos causing him to grow in size”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +1)

The blue-white wisp bends toward Cryos. It crosses the space between them and sinks into the wyvern’s snowflake pattern, where cold light spreads through every pale scale.
Cryos’s body expands with a deep, resonant rumble. His legs lengthen, his chest broadens, and his good wing unfurls until its shadow covers the blood-stained snow.

Cryos
Rrha... larger. Stronger. The mountain’s breath fits inside my wings.
The growth settles without tearing his healing wound. Cryos now stands large enough to carry an average rider, his back broad beneath the glowing cyan snowflake and his splinted wing held carefully close.

Azhurak
The beacon chose its vessel well. Cryos carries the path without becoming its prisoner.

Lunaris
His shadow reaches the old stones now. Let the hunters learn what the mountain protects.
Cryos lowers his head beside Crystalious, steady and attentive. Silver and blue light fade from the wisp, leaving its glow woven permanently through the wyvern’s scales.
