Thadeus, Elias, Marcus Thorne, and Sally Burton enter the destroyed ballroom. Marble rubble covers the blood-red floor, while shattered windows roar with wind through the broken walls.
At the far end, Elizabeth Bathory’s fist is buried in Erzsebet Báthory’s stomach. The ancient vampire gasps and falls backward, while traces of black aura coil around Elizabeth Bathory’s trembling form.
Thadeus Jovanović
Marcus, Sally, stay back. Elias and I will help Elizabeth.
Marcus Thorne pulls Sally Burton behind a fractured marble column. Elias keeps one hand near his Holy Cross as he and Thadeus advance carefully over the rubble.
Marcus Thorne
Sally and I will stay here. Just bring her back to herself.
Elias
Elizabeth, listen to us. You are not alone.
Elizabeth Bathory withdraws her fist as Erzsebet Báthory sprawls across the floor. The black aura flickers around Elizabeth Bathory’s shoulders, and her pale eyes turn toward Thadeus and Elias as the wind howls.
Director's note
Erzsebet appears to be knocked out.
“Elizabeth runs to Thadeus, "Are you okay? I'm so sorry, you shouldn't have been brought into my family troubles." Thadeus holds Elizabeth's hands, now returned to normal, "You are my family, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else." Meanwhile, Elias examines Erzsebet, holding his Holy Cross out towards her, just in case she returns to her feet.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Diplomacy, rolled +0)
Elizabeth runs across the rubble toward Thadeus, her pale eyes clearing as the black aura fades completely. Erzsebet remains sprawled and motionless behind her.
Elizabeth Bathory
Are you okay? I'm so sorry. You shouldn't have been brought into my family troubles.
Thadeus reaches for Elizabeth and holds both her hands. Her fingers are cold and trembling, but her skin and eyes have returned to normal.
Thadeus Jovanović
You are my family. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Elizabeth Bathory
Thadeus...
Elizabeth lowers her forehead toward his, breathing unevenly as she keeps his hands clasped. Around them, the ruined ballroom groans beneath the storm.
Elias
Stay close, but keep your eyes on her. I am checking Erzsebet.
Elias approaches the unconscious vampire cautiously, Holy Cross extended. He studies Erzsebet’s still body without touching her, ready in case she rises.
