The Sword That Became a Seal

The sanctum’s dark crystal pillars part around a descending stair as the sword’s teal light passes between them. Below, the Crucible’s inner heart turns like a vast black furnace, drawing the absorbed seal toward a central stone throne.

Jerashi steadies her sister at the stairhead, studying the rotating sigils with fierce concentration. The reunited pair remain above the first step while the furnace below pulls at the sword’s captured light.

Behind them, the sealed entrance gives a faint grinding shudder. Sivanus holds both blades ready, her violet-glimmering eyes fixed on the stone while the sanctum’s furnace exhales heatless ash.

Teal strands stretch from the ancient blade toward the turning heart, trembling like drawn chains. The stair descends into the furnace glow, while Jerashi, her sister, and Sivanus wait for Arion’s next move.

The host launches from the stair without hesitation, committing to the furnace’s pull. His numb shoulder jolts under the strain, but hard-won combat instinct turns the fall into a controlled descent toward the central throne.

Jerashi answers with fire, water, earth, wind, and shadow. Her layered magic shields the stair and bends the furnace’s pressure aside, while a stray lash of hostile energy strikes the host instead of her.

The ancient sword cuts through the black stone bridge with forge-born resilience, its light two-handed length moving faster than its size allows. Rift-walker insight finds the binding’s true channel beneath the throne.

Teal energy floods the runes as the blade pierces the central stone. Divine power scorches the demonic residue without harming the remaining seal, and the binding tears free into the sword’s waiting resonance.

The furnace falls silent. The extracted binding coils inside the blade, while its hunger drains the host’s lifeforce and leaves his limbs trembling. He rises from the heart with the remaining seal secured, refusing to retreat.
