The passage descends into a vast chamber beneath the Crucible. Blood-red light crawls through carved channels, illuminating a translucent stone reliquary where a young adult elf woman with magenta hair lies conscious and rigid, her green eyes wide beneath the tightening stone.
Jerashi Heladine
That is her. The binding is closing around her body, and every channel is drawing from her inheritance.
The reliquary contracts with a grinding pulse. Five elemental sigils flicker across its face, while a sixth socket remains dark at the chamber’s center, reached by a narrow bridge of black stone.
Sivanus
The Council is through the ash. I hear armor on the stair. We have moments before they seal this chamber with us inside.
Behind them, the hidden passage shudders under distant impacts. The courier presses himself against the wall, clutching Marr’s sealed report, while dust rains from the ceiling.
Jerashi Heladine
The mechanism is beneath that bridge. If the dark socket accepts your sword, it may release her. If it rejects the resonance, it will finish the seal.
Within the reliquary, Jerashi’s sister moves only her eyes toward the ancient blade. The red channels brighten, and something beneath the chamber answers with a slow, hungry beat.
“Well, lets give it a shot, maybe my blade can absorb the seal on her.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled +3)
Arion Touvengard
Let’s give it a shot. Maybe my blade can absorb the seal from her.
Arion steps onto the black bridge and lowers the ancient sword toward the dark socket. Teal light answers from the blade, threading into the reliquary’s red channels.
The seal tears free in six luminous strands. They pour into the sword instead of the woman, and the stone reliquary splits open around her unharmed body.
Jerashi Heladine
You did it. Her inheritance is no longer feeding the prison.
Jerashi’s sister collapses forward, breathing freely as Jerashi catches her. Inside the blade, the absorbed seal unfolds into a clear vision of the Crucible’s inner heart and its hidden entrance.
Sivanus
Then we have more than a rescue. We have the way in.
The blood-red channels gutter into darkness. Far above, Council steel pounds against the sealed passage, but the sword now marks a direct path beneath the Crucible’s foundation.

Escape the seal chamber
“Lets enter the inner sanctum, where our pursuirs cannot follow.”
SUCCESS (Superb Agility, rolled -2)
The sword’s clear vision opens a narrow seam beneath the broken reliquary. Arion leads them through as the inner sanctum receives the blade’s teal glow.
He crosses the threshold with Jerashi’s sister supported between them. Loose black stone shifts underfoot, scraping Arion’s boot and wrenching his numb shoulder as he catches her weight.
Jerashi Heladine
Careful. She is free of the reliquary, but the sanctum still recognizes her blood.
Beyond the threshold, pillars of dark crystal rise around a sunken chamber. The sword’s vision settles into the walls, revealing the Crucible’s inner heart without opening any path behind them.
Sivanus
The passage is closing. They cannot follow us now.
The stone seam seals with a muted boom. Council steel pounds once from beyond it, then fades, leaving only the sanctum’s deep pulse and the sisters’ reunited breathing.
Jerashi Heladine
We are inside. Whatever waits at the Crucible’s heart, it waits with us now.
