The astrolabe remains synchronized with Doku’s chained lattice. Four golden anchors pulse across the circular floor, their light turning slowly beneath the observatory’s dust-veiled stars.
Beneath the central stone, a fifth symbol emerges in reverse, its hooked lines pointing toward a sealed stair descending below the observatory.
The Palace Archivist
That mark was hidden beneath the floor. It is not another anchor, Lady Nohara. It is a direction, or an instruction.
The archivist approaches the meridian but stops short of the new symbol. The bronze astrolabe answers with a deeper chime, and dust slips from the stair’s unmoving seal.
The Palace Archivist
Completing the pattern could identify the lattice’s original purpose. It may also send a signal through every connected anchor, including those beyond this observatory.
Doku’s crystal-mounted parasol rests within reach, its paired focuses glowing against the golden marks. No ward alarm sounds yet, but the fifth symbol continues forming.
The Palace Archivist
Vale, the enrolled family, and the palace herald remain at the refuge. Here, only you and I can witness what answers from below.

Secure control of the teleportation lattice
“"Let's try to control it." I then establish control using sealing rune techniques and control runes to make it my own.”
SUCCESS (Good Magic, rolled -1)
Doku Nohara
Let's try to control it.
Doku plants the Needle-Firing Rapier Staff Parasol at the observatory's center. Silver-thread gloves guide sealing runes around all four golden anchors, enclosing their light without breaking the lattice.
She inscribes control marks through the paired resonance crystals, then binds the emerging fifth symbol to her pattern. The hooked lines straighten, answering her authority instead of the buried stair.
The astrolabe slows beneath her command. Its rings settle into a precise configuration, and the four anchors become obedient points within Doku's controlled transit lattice.
The Palace Archivist
You have claimed the pattern without opening the stair. The observatory now recognizes your seals as its governing framework.
A final control rune closes across the central stone. The hidden direction remains legible, but its signal is contained, unable to travel beyond the observatory without Doku's release.
The Palace Archivist
The lattice is stable and yours to operate. I will record the sealing method, the anchor sequence, and your exclusive control of the observatory pattern.
