The server slips through a staff door and gestures urgently for Vesper, Razor, and Gwen to follow. The lookouts, adult human men in matching charcoal jackets and armored trousers, watch the sealed exits remain outside, watching the sealed exits and missing the movement.

Behind the bar, refrigeration units thrum beside stacked liquor crates. The server pulls a maintenance panel aside, revealing a gang terminal patched into the karaoke network.

Lockdown wasn't ordered by the usual leadership. I improvised it when those three came in armed. If they learn that, this room becomes a coffin.

Razor

Kaito Chang might answer. He runs messages for the Arancini and still owes me a favor. Helix Felton is less predictable.

Razor crouches at the terminal, twin blades glinting beneath his jacket as he works the local contact list. The display spits static, then resolves into encrypted names.

The evidence handoff is complete. My implant logged the shard and transmitted a duplicate to the case server. No one here can reclaim it.

Then decide quickly. Someone outside is asking why the doors are locked, and the answer won't stay quiet for long.

Vesper turns the narrow space behind the bar into a stage. She launches into a sharp, fluid dance, using the crates, counter, and flashing terminal as a shifting set.

Her legendary agility makes every movement clean and deliberate. Boots strike metal in rapid rhythm, hair whipping through neon spill as the maintenance room’s security feed catches her performance.

Server

Server

Keep that up. Every camera in the back corridor just pivoted toward you.

Razor

Razor

Good. Gwen, move. I’ll take the service route and lose the watchers outside.

Gwen slips through the opened panel first, armored coat vanishing into the dark passage. Razor follows with the data route copied, leaving the terminal hissing behind him.

Vesper, the case server has the evidence. I’ll make sure your distraction stays out of the report.

Outside, confused voices rise as the lookouts track the wrong movement. The server kills the maintenance light, and Vesper’s dance remains the only bright signal in the room.

“*I flip over the back of the bar and continue my distraction. Then find a chair to do a cool chair dance on and flipping my body over the back of the chair and stealing an on lookers hat and putting it in mid flip.*”

Secrets Behind the Locked Bar
Onlooker

Vesper vaults the bar’s back edge and lands among stacked crates, keeping the dance alive as neon flickers across the terminal and security feed.

She spots a folding chair beneath the service counter, hooks it free with one boot, and plants it in the open strip behind the bar.

The chair dance becomes a blur of controlled motion. Vesper rises onto its seat, arches over the back, and flips cleanly through the cramped space.

Her hand snatches a black mesh cap from an onlooker, a slim young adult woman with warm brown skin, cropped silver hair, and a red jacket, leaning near the staff passage, then places it on her head mid-flip before her boots strike down.

The landing holds, but the chair skids hard against the floor. Its metal edge scrapes Vesper’s shin, leaving a bright, stinging line beneath her clothing.

That is one way to keep a room looking the wrong direction.

Behind the dead maintenance light, corridor cameras continue tracking Vesper’s stolen cap and impossible rhythm while footsteps gather beyond the sealed bar.

Vesper vaults the bar’s back edge and keeps moving, turning the cramped service space into a bright, kinetic stage beneath the flickering terminal.

She hooks a folding chair from beneath the counter with her boot, drags it into the open strip, and mounts the seat without breaking rhythm.

The chair dance snaps through sharp turns and flowing arcs. Vesper folds over the backrest, flips cleanly, and lands as the chair skids behind her.

During the rotation, her hand catches the black mesh cap from the onlooker, a young woman in a red jacket, and settles it onto Vesper’s hair.

The chair’s metal edge scrapes Vesper’s shin on the landing, a bright sting beneath her clothing. Beyond the sealed bar, footsteps gather while every camera remains fixed on her performance.

“*I finish my performance and order another drink and down then exit stage left.*”

Another drink. Then put me down for the exit.

Vesper finishes on a clean turn, catches the chair before it can topple, and lets the final synthetic beat carry her into a sharp bow. Applause breaks through the sealed bar.

Server

Coming up. Stage left is clear for three seconds.

The server slides a neon tumbler across the counter. Vesper catches it, the cap shadowing her eyes, and downs the drink in one steady swallow despite the sting along her shin.

She sets the empty tumbler beside the terminal, vaults the counter, and slips through the staff passage on the left. The cameras follow the fading performance feed instead.

Server

Server

Go. I’ll keep the lights and lies pointed the other way.

Vesper exits stage left into the service corridor, mesh cap low and footsteps controlled. Behind her, the sealed bar erupts with confused voices while the corridor opens into darkness.

“*I go to meet up with Razor and the rendezvous point.*”

SUCCESS (Legendary Agility, rolled +0)

Vesper moves through the service corridor and out into Night City's wet neon, the black mesh cap low over her eyes. Her bruised shin complains, but her pace stays precise.

She crosses two alleys, slips beneath a maglev support, and reaches the rendezvous point: an abandoned ticket kiosk humming beside a shuttered transit entrance.

Vesper

The kiosk's camera is dead, but the maintenance drone is still powered.

A maintenance drone pivots overhead. Vesper times her approach through its blind angle and arrives beneath the kiosk awning without drawing its lens.

Razor

Razor

Right on time. I was starting to think the karaoke crowd had adopted you.

Razor steps from behind the kiosk, electric-blue hair bright beneath the rain, twin blades hidden under his jacket. His eyes check the corridor before settling on her.

Razor

Gwen got clear. The evidence is moving. Now tell me whether those Arancini lookouts followed you, and I’ll get you somewhere quieter.
