Terra, once called Earth, is an unrecognizable dystopian world where the borders of nations are now decided by where cities end and wastelands begin. Ideologies have become obsolete, with nations being just conglomerates of separate megacities that tolerate each other more than others. Mainly being controlled by powerful megacorporations that own a majority of the wealth. Despite this, warlord states exist in regions that no megacity has dared to build itself. Tyrannical regimes that hold land no megacorporation considers worth subjugating. The most prominent of these warlord states reside in Africa and Oceania, the two continents that do not directly harbour a megacity or megacorporation. Outside of Warlord states and Eperopolises, Terra is a wasteland. Industrial expansion turned regions not monitored into inhospitable regions.

Moscovia is the cyberpunk and dystopian version of Moscow, the city developed and merged with other Russian cities over centuries as the Russian Federation dissolved and was reborn as new entities. The city constantly changed hands but its core Russian population always remained loyal. Eventually, with the formation of Rova, and the larger formation of Rova-Russia, the city finally had a permanent order installed. Rova implemented several new acts and decisions that set aside Moscovia from other eperopolises. As Rova was by far the most powerful megacorporation, literally being a conglomerate of megacorporations, it didn't have any competitors on its level. Because of this, while other megacorporations focused on quantity, Rova focused on quality, as it was the only way to continue raising profit. This meant that Rova needed to improve, create, and engineer, which indirectly helped Moscovia grow to become one of the most technologically advanced eperopolises on Terra. Technology has completely eradicated several problems other eperopolises still face. Bio-farms create a renewable source of food, Water Synthesizers create billions of gallons of safe drinking water every day, and Moscovia is least effected by natural disasters out of every eperopolis. Leading to Moscovia being considered the last safe haven of life in a world considered a wasteland. This is exactly what lead to the population crisis that forced rapid expansion in Moscovia, while similar to Dragon Hive's on paper, Moscovia's population crisis was far less severe. Allowing Rova to maintain its quality-over-quantity doctrine while constructing new residential districts. Avoiding the issues that plague Dragon Hive. Apex York is the cyberpunk and dystopian version of New York. It became America's de-facto capital in 2503 as Washington D.C. became too much of a target by nuclear weapons. It eventually merged with several other American cities and then Washington D.C. itself. The city spanned across the east coast and slowly developed itself into the most prominent trade centre on the Atlantic coast. Neo-Brazenith is the cyberpunk and dystopian version of Brasilia, the city slowly began expanding as the environment continued degrading. As Terra started becoming inhospitable for trees, Brazil ordered the rapid deforestation of the Amazon Rainforest in an attempt to collect as much wood as possible before it became nearly extinct. This strategy worked as other nations that refused to do so found their forests worthless, wood rotted, and utterly devoid of any value. Brazil, now holding the world's only stable wood supply was able to sell it at such a profitable price that they were able to build their own eperopolis. Others were built by powerful nations over centuries, Neo-Brazenith rose in a single century and was built by a nation no one considered more than a regional power at the time, and it is still growing to now. As Brazil's government invested heavily into agri-domes that could artificially create environments trees could grow. Creating a powerful industry that no eperopolis can ever match. Dragon Hive is the cyberpunk and dystopian version of Beijing. The Chinese government slowly began the expansion of major urban centres as population continued to grow. This slow expansion was forced into a devastating overdrive as the subcontinent of India fell into total anarchy as the nations of India and Pakistan both devolved into nuclear war over the Kashmir region. New Delhi and Islamabad became craters and the displaced population that number in the billions saw China as the only stable neighbour. Flooding Chinese cities and forcing China's government to rapidly accelerate the expansion of cities. Dragon Hive rapidly became the world's second largest eperopolis, overtaking Moscovia despite Moscovia having started expanding sooner. But this came with a critical problem, the rapid construction and near impossible due-dates forced construction companies to cut corners or face pay deductions. This means that Dragon Hive sits on very unstable foundations, with many of its skyscrapers severely outdated and unsafe. Dragon Hive however cannot afford to stop. It's population never stopped growing as generations became larger than the previous. Industrial capability became the only way to offset the rapidly expanding population and so Dragon Hive never had the time to rebuild its poorly made residential districts. Aegis Centralis is the cyberpunk and dystopian version of Rome. Built as European nations united into an entity known as Eurounion, the capital was eventually decided as Rome. And, as many other eperopolises have, slowly expanded and merged with other cities until it reached its grandeur in size. But what allowed Aegis Centralis to become the largest eperopolis on Terra was the fact it held the Mediterranean. The last body of water on Earth that hasn't been nearly completely polluted or destroyed. Which caused a population boom similar to Dragon Hive's in the eperopolis. Eurounion, which was the most powerful entity on Terra for several decades, held the wealth to expand Aegis Centralis into the state it is now. Conquering Northern Africa to secure the last coastline to create a complete monopoly. But this caused several other issues to silently arise. Rebellion was especially prominent as the wars forced unwilling African nations into subjugation. But it was only after the collapse of Eurounion, in 2843 that those rebellions showed themselves. With the scars of the civil war still visible to this day.
