Verner reaches Waterdeep’s crowded wayhouse with Echo secured at his side and the magistrate notice tucked safely within his crimson coat. Behind him, Ordan, Maerith, Ilyra, and the surrendered agents remain in the hidden chambers, guarding the records.

Verner
I seek a young half-elf woman wearing a red wide-brimmed hat with a white feather, a flowing crimson coat with black and white trim, and layered white ruffles or a jabot.
Caravan bells jangle beneath the timbered roof. Teamsters pause over ledgers and harness, while dust and hay drift through shafts of morning light.
A young adult elf woman in a weathered green riding coat steps from beside a water trough. Her russet braid is tucked beneath a leather cap, and a pale scar crosses one eyebrow.

The Caravan Outrider
That description matches a girl I saw boarding a guarded wagon at dawn. Half-elf, certainly. The wagon was bound for an old riverside shrine.

The Caravan Outrider
One detail troubled me. A black-thorn token hung among the escorts’ badges. I know no honest caravan guard who wears such a mark.
Beyond the wayhouse doors, a shrine-bound caravan begins assembling, its canvas wagons creaking as drivers call to the restless horses. The outrider studies Verner, awaiting his next question.
