The passage opens into the chamber the mound has been promising all along. The thrumming swells until it is felt in bone more than heard, and the faint amber pulse in the walls beats like a giant, buried heart.
Bjor Ravenhelm reaches the circular floor and looks up at the ringed walls, where stone seams turn with slow, exact purpose. The old sound is no ghost in the dark now. It is gearwork, vast and patient, buried under the hill.

The Tunnel-Warden
So it wakes at last... and he hears it.
The Child stops beside Bjor, small in the amber glow, his face lifted toward the moving walls. The prison is not a cell of iron and hate. It is a craft, made to hold, sort, and bind what was given to it.

The Child
I know this place. Not the shape... the duty.
The wall-bound ancestors deepen in the stone around them, their dim forms stirred by the rhythm. The chamber answers the boy's voice, and the pulsing light steadies as if listening for his choice.

The Child
Keeper. Not heir only. Keeper.
The Tunnel-Warden watches the boy without moving, waiting for him to name the prison as his own and step fully into the burden left waiting for him.
