He jerks hard in Quorpeck's grip and lunges for a side-crevice no dwarf could comfortably fit, trying to pull the armored hold off balance.

Loose rubble skitters under Quorpeck's boots as the tunnel breathes with distant rumbles. The goblin keeps twisting, eyes fixed on the dark slit in the stone, ready to slip free if he can.

The words land hard in the narrow tunnel. The goblin’s grin falters, and his scrabbling feet stop mid-shift beside the side-crevice.

He swallows, then eases one hand up from the stone wall, showing he is not reaching for another trick. Dust slides from the ceiling in a thin curtain.

The dim prophecy stone at Quorpeck’s belt gives a weak, cold pulse, as if confirming the route. The goblin keeps his back pressed to the rock, eyes lowered now, waiting to see whether the threat becomes mercy or steel.

The goblin’s eyes drop to the coin, then lift to the dwarf’s face. He does not reach for it at once. Instead, he nods once, sharp and nervous, and points down the passage with two fingers.

Below the broken moon arch, then the black-marked sluice door. Keep low. The inner tide steps split there, left for the smugglers, right for the envoy’s route.
He snatches the coin at last and palms it fast. The prophecy stone at Quorpeck’s belt gives a faint, tired pulse, then dims again.

That mark on the door, it is Black Ledger work. Fast hands, quiet feet, no torches if you can help it.
Quorpeck turns from the side-crevice and follows the line of the goblin’s指 point into the dark. The goblin stays pinned to the wall, watching him go, uncertain whether the dwarf’s mercy is real.
